I have just come back from my seventh yearly trip with some family and friends. If you are looking to unplug (no cable, WIFI and very spotty cell service from AT&T) then this is the place to unwind. Justin and Loraine Morse are great people. We bring our own kayaks and float down the Penobscot River on several different sections. Justin has helped us with valuable information and has not steered us wrong. This year on several trips we averaged catching over 30 Smallmouth Bass each in a 4 hour drift. That amount is actually conservative, but we stopped counting after a while. The average size was well over 1 pound with several over 2 pounds. The fishing in the pond is great also. We usually go in August, so the best fishing in the pond is first thing in the morning or early in the evening. We rent Folsom and Crooked cabins and they are side by side. Justin opens the door that separates them and they are able to accommodate a larger group together. Clean linens, towels are included. They are cabins are clean and comfortable. We had been going to Ontario to fish, But will never go back because the fishing is so good and our hosts are friendly and great people. We eliminate many hours of travel and the aggravation of crossing the border by going to Maine. Lincoln is close by and has a Walmart and Hannifords Supermarket. We buy our own food and it works out jut fine. I could keep going on with all the great things, but it would be better to experience them yourself. It is also a great value. We have already booked for next year and plan to keep going for...
Read moreA great camp with excellenp owners.||||A total of 5 cabins and a main lodge make up this small Maine camp with the owners residing on the premises. We have stayed here two years in a row for a total of 20 days with our now 10 and 8 year old kids. ||||The cabins are clean with comfortable matresses, full kitchen and bath, serviced with spring water.||||The rental motorboats are well kept and a good value. There are numerous large and small canoes as well as kayaks that are free of charge to use for a nice paddle or to fish from.||||The fishing is better than what I have expected for mid-August, with the times just before sunrise and just after dusk being producers of good size largemouth bass. The owner Justin is a registered Maine Guide whom we hired to guide us on the Penobscot River the last 2 years with excellent results for smallmouth bass. The cost is well worth a full day out for 2 people on this historic river.||||The lodge offers a meal plan which I have been told by other guests was very good, and a Friday nite lobster dinner is offered to all guests which is an enjoyable meal with the other guests.||||The owners are wonderful people who take an interest in your stay. Thier website is kept up to date and they never take long to return a call or e-mail.||||Our family has many great memories from the Eagle Lodge on Folsom & Crooked Pond.||||||||A nice firepit at the lakeside is well stocked with wood for all guests to enjoy an...
