Some highlights from our last day @bluerubyfarm agrotourismo in Brown's Valley CA. An unforgettable experience, an intimate farm stay where you can learn about restorative farming and enjoy farm to table dinners. Lots to do nearby including hiking, visiting a small local winery or alpaca farm, relaxing at the river, or local restaurants and shopping. #agritourism #farmstay #farmlife #farmtok #farmtotable #vacation

This was an exceptional stay with incredible hosts, Paul and Stephanie. We were there end of July and enjoyed every moment despite the heat. The rooms were very well kept, clean, spacious, and the beds were comfortable. Paul and Stephanie are full of knowledge in multiple aspects of life. I wish I could be there every day to soak up everything they know. The food is phenomenal and well thought out. Paul truly unlocks the art of cooking while Stephanie has a great way of opening conversations. While we were there we found a place to hike, joined our hosts for a morning at Artisan Lavinia and a farmer’s market, and did a farm tour with Paul (highly recommend!). They also email you a list of things to do, what to bring, and wonderful recommendations for restaurants. The experience is well worth it, I cannot wait to visit again. Many thanks and blessings to Paul and Stephanie for creating a beautiful concept that brings people and nature together. Only a few pics as I tried to be present as much as possible. (:

Our stay at Blue Ruby Farm was incredible. Paul and Stephanie were so kind and welcoming. I would highly recommend doing at least one dinner with them - the meal that Paul cooked for us was delicious and full of fresh ingredients, many of them grown on the farm or sourced locally from their friends and neighbors. If you end up not doing dinner both nights, they have great recommendations for restaurants nearby. The location was beautiful and close to Grass Valley and Nevada City, with plenty to do in your free time. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and well kept.

We also brought our then 10 month old rescue puppy who sometimes takes a while to warm up to other people and dogs, and they were incredibly patient with us and she ended up having the time of her life with one of their dogs on the property who she played with the entire time and who showed her around the farm. If you're looking for something very private, where you won't run into people, it's probably not the best spot for that, but if you're interested in something very intimate and collective, where you get to know your hosts and the other guests, it's perfect. We really enjoyed learning about everyone that...

What a perfect evening we enjoyed last night at Blue Ruby Farm! We were transported to Northeastern France with a delicious Alsatian menu highlighting the specialties of the region made with all local ingredients from our Sierra Foothills! Stephanie and Paul Ladeira are exceptional hosts – Stephanie the hostess welcoming us with special wines and Paul the amazing chef. On entering, we were treated with the welcoming hearth spit-roasting organically-raised pork loins from Mountain Bloom Farm in Brownsville. This dish did not disappoint! Truly perfectly cooked meat with Paul’s homemade sauerkraut, creamy potatoes and a Riesling sauce. The first courses were crepes and puff pastry galette – also traditional and delicious. And to end, all will agree, a fabulous Apple Charlotte Flambe with local dried huckleberries and apples, Calvados adding the flames!. Blue Ruby is a real gem in the Foothills! So happy to be able to participate in their offerings – may have to stay over sometime in one of the three beautiful rooms they offer as well.

Thank you,...
