The ☀️Days Inn by Wyndham Lisbon is indeed a pretty nice 🏢hotel for around the local area. Although it is in a rather rural immediate surrounding, it is conveniently situated exactly next to 🛣Route 11 along with the Shale 🍺🍸Tavern & 🍖Grille and a ⛽BP gas station, and is just minutes down the road from the small town of 📍Lisbon. From the outside, the size is pretty impressive for a Days Inn level of establishment due to the fact that it (at least to me) appears to be a good 1.5 to perhaps even 2 times 📈larger than comparable hotels/motels (especially for being in a fairly remote area). Upon entry, the large 2-story lobby/foyer is undeniably fairly grandiose, with large windows all around, a beautiful chandelier, and a stately staircase. Perhaps more importantly though is that the 🛏rooms are pretty nice as well. Although their style (along with the rest of the hotel) is somewhat more 'traditional' in aesthetic appeal (perhaps more reminiscent of the early/mid-2000's than the 20-teens), everything is clean, 🖼pleasant looking, in good shape, and completely functional. The standard rooms are (at least mine was) equipped with a refrigerator, ☕coffee maker, hair dryer, and (most importantly nowadays) free 📶wifi. Although I personally missed breakfast, the free breakfast area looked like it had had a pretty nice variety to offer, with everything from 🥞waffle machines, other hot food probably eggs🍳 and meat🥓 of some sort), 🥣oatmeal and fresh 🍊🍎fruit. And although there was probably coffee in this area to, there is an all day ☕coffee table set up near the front doors. The service on the other hand was absolutely awful ..... just kidding! Haha. The 🛎staff was friendly, helpful, and didn't even seem to mind that I nodded off before leaving and thus accidentally missed the checkout by 20 minutes (which is more generously at 🕛12 noon instead of 🕚11 like most places). All in all, my stay here was pleasant, enjoyable, effortless, convenient, and comfortably ticked all the ✔boxes for my average personal hotel needs - and I'm sure it will for you as well. So as a pretty well recommended place on my behalf, I hope you enjoy your stay here...
Read moreThis is a "get what you pay for" kind of place. They are clearly cutting corners where possible to keep the prices down. No blankets. This was weird. You have two light sheets on the bed, but there are no blankets in the rooms. I expect you could probably get some at the front desk, but they are not readily available. We kept our room warm, but that is not ideal in my opinion. Fixtures are all dated. Shower works fairly well but the temperature adjustment took some getting used to. I have not seen a system like it anywhere else on the planet. We had some stinkbugs coming up the sink drain. I know they find their way into buildings, but I didn't like it when my kid found one crawling on the bed. Went to wash it down the drain and one of it's freinds was on it's way out to say hello.
With that said, we had a place to crash at a reasonable price. Check in was quick and friendly. The attendant explained everything we needed to know about breakfast and was able to recommend a place to eat at a late hour in a town with very few options at that time of night. It was quiet while we slept and parking was plentiful. If you want to be as close as possible to Lisbon, this...
Read moreThis is our 3rd visit to this hotel. The website talks about wheelchair accessible amenities but does not mention that there is NO elevator. There are cards to assist with luggage. You'll need to carry your things up the stairs if you're on the 2nd floor. There is NO restaurant in the hotel. There is breakfast, but we thought the quality of the breakfast has done downhill since we were there last. I called the front desk for a blanket. I tried 3 times. 45 rings later, someone answered. In their defense, is there only one person at the front desk? Could they be busy doing something else? I'm sure this role has many responsibilities that could pull them away.
We asked for a 1st floor room. They did not have one available because of renovations. Could it be advertised so we would know to ask for 1st floor when making our reservations?
The ice machines were down. We had to go to the convenience store next door to purchase a small bag of ice.
We loved the Shale Tavern during our 1st trip. With our 2nd trip, the quality was significantly different. And now the restaurant is closed permanently. So sad. We ended up ordering...
