Koa Lisbon Before we left, we called and said we have three campers and are bringing two extra trailers loaded with ATV’s and will each have an extra vehicle. We were told that “the sites are huge and have plenty of room.” When we showed up, my camper did not fit on the “pull through” site that an RV was on the other side making it not a pull through. After many attempts At trying to fit the camper I told the owner we were leaving.. they scrambled and found us another site. We moved to the other site and they told us we can park the atv trailers up by the main road.. having $25k worth of machines on the trailer we said no and squeezed it on our site/edge of the road. The other camper in our group had “full hookup” and only had a 20amp service. One 32 ft camper barely fit on one site and they sent the other to a site down the far end which had some room for the other trailer. So the breaker kept popping and we were losing WiFi and found the WiFi was hooked to the same breaker. (Figured it out by one of the times resetting the breaker we all got texts) We complained about the sites etc and found out the owners have a daughter in the cabins across from us. We spent the weekend with them staring us down and being rude. We would say hi as they walked by and they would look the other way. We walked up to the front office to get ice and the daughter made a comment about walking on the grass which there is a opening in the fence to the stairs with grass there in a strait line. Also they had New York, Texas, Vermont, Maine and a few other out of state plates in the campgrounds on a “NH resident only” due to COVID (wouldn’t let a mass resident, one person, come with us) the owners are also poking around the park the entire time keeping an eye on everyone the entire weekend. The campground was clean and looks decently kept but the owners have some learning to do. We were told the 2019 and before owners made an awesome experience, these owners we felt uncomfortable with and will NEVER go back. If you have a camper over 32 ft there are very few sites you will fit in, especially NONE of the ones in the middle or against the river.. everyone is tight together. the stairway to the river is through someone’s campsite and the “beach” area is closed due to the bridge...
Read moreI was very excited to find a dog friendly campground with some features directed for dogs and so many good reviews however I was extremely disappointed. To be fair I will point out a couple good things I did like. I liked that it was right along the river, they had big (clean) sinks to wash your dishes in and the sites are fairly sized they also come around and pick up your trash for you which I have never seen before. However, from the start I felt we were not respected because we were a young couple. We were treated as if we were preschoolers at a day care and we have been camping for quite sometime at several different campgrounds and had a pretty good grasp on what we were doing. I have also never seen a campground with so many unrealistic rules. There is no privacy between all of the campsites. Dividing the campsites are rail road ties just to show the perimeter. Along with your neighbors being right on top of you, one of the owners drives around in a golf cart staring at you making it very uncomfortable. Common rules for campground is a quiet time which I completely understand/agree with however mid afternoon we were listening to the baseball game on the radio at a normal volume so we could hear it, apparently there's an unwritten rule that if your neighbors can hear it your radio is too loud. The campsites are so close it is impossible to do anything with out them being able to hear you so that seemed like a pretty odd rule too me. This was also a "rule" that was not on their already lengthy list of rules. To end this I was just over the top disappointed in this campground and will most definitely not be returning. EDIT: As if this wasn't long enough, I went to read some reviews on their website as I didn't know they were there before and on their website they are able to reply to reviews and had I read them before booking I never would have gone here. Just their responses to those were extremely rude and just goes to show what kind of people run this campground. Also don't plan on camping here if it's going to rain, the campground completely floods and they think putting a tarp up to stay dry is...
Read moreNON DOG FRIENDLY!!!!!! I want to state that I have waited one year to make this post. My wife, kids and parents were going to stay at this KOA last August (2019)while we visited the absolutely stunning White Mountains of New Hampshire. We love KOAs because of their reputation and the value savings card as we camp a lot. As this had a great location and beautiful scenery as it is right along the river and was within a decent travel distance of the activities that we had planned. Well that all changed when we arrived. We have 3 dogs, all non aggressive breeds. We were told about the dog policy that the owners created. We were not allowed to leave our dogs in our camper while we were not at the campsite. We had to put them in their kennel, which was a glorified fenced in area with a tarp outside. Also we had to pay per hour for each dog. I do not remember the price, but it was pricy. Also it was an open caged area, so what would happen if someone else’s dog had to be put in there while I wasn’t there? They pretty much were implying that they didn’t want The dogs left unattended even in my own trailer. We crate our dogs when we are not with them, as we don’t want they destroying anything when they get bored or going to the windows and barking at the neighbors. As we feel this would be rude. When we camp, we like to go places and may be gone for a few hours at a time. Isn’t that the point of camping? So I said no thank you, you may keep my deposit (which they did refund) and we went to Twin River Campground. They were awesome! Great location just off the river. You can even rent panning equipment to pan for gold. Highly recommend Twin River. We would have gone back this year if it wasn’t for Covid-19. I hope this...
