Ross Hill RV Park — Hotel in Lisbon

I was told management doesn't allow tent camping in the park anymore it's to bad because they had decent tent sites on the river that I've camped at twice earlier this season. No explanation given other than the new owner's won't allow tents anymore. I grew up going to this campground and the park has definitely declined in the last couple years I wouldn't recommend this campground to anyone specially families with young kids as there's no activities other than a broke down swing set and a stinky mosquito riddled pond they call a pool and an overprice food truck.if your planning on camping in a tent or using the bed of your truck with a cap to sleep in I'd suggest Natures Campsites Campground who I know for a fact is cheaper and has more things to do than Ross Hill Park. ××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××2Part two of my review after management responded to my first review and said to call immediately I've called 3 times first two times young gentleman said the manager is in a meeting and he couldn't give me the owner's information and he also told me his manger was sent a text that I had called and she would return my call after 4 hours of waiting I called the third time and the phone went to an answering machine. All I want is the owner's name and number so I can hear their explanation of why tents are no longer allowed at their campground!!!!××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××part 3 of my review after not getting a phone call back from management yesterday i called back this morning and was able to talk to Brooke who straight up a lied and was rude and refused to give me the name and number of the new owners and said that theyd be reaching out to me but i find that hard to believe seeing how she herself never reached out to me but time will tell. She also told me its posted on the facebook site where they arn't allowing tents anymore but I looked on facebook and didn't see any posts stating that.Her excuse for not allowing tents is that the seasonal campers of that park complain about tent campers. Nice Campground, My family and I have been going here for years. We were very disappointed this year because we booked sites for July 21st-23rd And they were having a steak and lobster dinner on Saturday. Some of my family that doesn't camp came for the day on Saturday to visit with us and have the dinner. When we arrived on Friday we found out that the dinner had been canceled. They said there wasn't enough participation so they decided not to do it. We had already paid for the dinners in advance and they said they would refund us. We were never told ahead of time, emailed or contacted. We found out the day we arrived. We were counting on that meal and wound up using all of the food we had to make it through the weekend and feed our family that was visiting. We have all noticed that there have been a lot of empty campsites, seasonal and weekenders. Also the upkeep of the campground seems to be slipping. We love this campground and hope that whatever is going on can be resolved and bring this wonderful place back to the quality it once was. UPDATE: 6-16-24 My family and I went camping for Father's Day weekend. The campground has been sold and is under new management. Although it is still a work in progress we can see the improvements that have already been made. They are working to bring this wonderful campground back to the status it held for many years. Such a great place with friendly people. There is now a food truck located in the lower field with great options and very reasonable prices. There was a DJ this past weekend and the music was fantastic! A great selection of something for everyone and loud enough to enjoy but not so loud that you can't have a conversation with the person next to you. They also had a barn fire Saturday night along with the music. My family and I are already talking about booking another weekend in July. Thought I found a gem! First visit too good to be true! Day one excited wow Ashley was awesome. Very kind and helpful! Day 2 was like night and day with adding a thunderstorm. Omg. Still blows my mind how the next day went so wrong. I wont even visit no one there. Sat with my therapist to self evaluate. Either day 2 worker hates the job. Knows me somehow and I don't know and don't like me or my spouse. Threatened to throw me out immediately cause of my tone. I apologize. That's all u can do to evilness. I cried and apologized . Assuring the worker I was completely wrong. Lied to my face. Worker was downright mean and didn't care. The whole park was booked the next day I was told as I attempted to get my 3rd night. I honestly have no clue what I did . My therapist said maybe that person don't like the job. Then don't do it. Or possibly a community that don't like outsiders. Like I said my first time. I was told to be out by 11 am and nope nothing. Never even looked in computer. Smh. I cried for hours. Everyone seen my driving being my eyes out and I cried more packed my stuff 97 percent. Slept and left . Mental health is real. Treat people the way u want to be treated. Oh and on website says pet friendly and 2 guests allowed . I was made to pay $8 per guest for 2 people and then dinner time a husband and wife showed to visit was not allowed through gate. I drive up myself let them get in my car with their pet. A cat. With leash and cage. Worker words " them 2 in your car have to pay and the animal is not allowed!" I screen shot the rules I was made to sign. It dont say any specific animal. Pet friendly.
