0 (Zero) stars. We stayed for a long stay due to a work related need for an RV park in Santa Cruz. Santa Vida RV Park is the filthiest, (literally sewers running in streets), bathrooms too filthy to use. We were trapped here for too long. Grounds could be beautiful, but owners refuse to keep them up. *This is no place for a big RV no matter your circumstances. The "spaces" are not slanted. The spaces are STRAIGHT ON... which were probably only for tents originally. In 25 years of RVing in all types of camping from tents to 40' MH, this is the WORST place we have ever seen or experienced. The bridge over into the RV park has a speed bump at the crest which nearly took off our bumper as we left. The owners just washed the streets with water after major sewer spills and because of their completely broken sewer system, which needs to be completely REmoved and a new system put in. There was no redeeming aspect to this park. It should be shut down for health concerns. Owners have no clue what they are doing. Oh I wish someone would have warned us before we had damaged our RV and wasted our money, and been subjected to the filth. Owners are ignornant, but not mean or rude. They don't know any better. ZERO STARS... SAVE YOURSELF and YOUR RV... Do Not Stay Here!!!!!!! Dangerous place because of unsanitary conditions and because your RV will take a HIT here... ONLY RV PARK that we have ever had trouble in.... UGH! Do not believe the decent Reviews about this place, I have never given a bad review in my life. I am saddened that the family that owns this place has no clue of what...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe don't consider ourselves seasoned campers but we have been on the road for about 2 months and have stayed at all types of places offering varying degrees of cleanliness, comfort and amenities. This place was absolutely the worst! Zero amenities. Filthy unusable bathrooms (2 out of three of the women's showers were boarded up and in toxic looking shape) the bathroom building smelled like it was rotting from the inside out. What was once a pool is now a disgusting, debris filled pit. The owner (I'm assuming) charged us 56 dollars for one night for a tent site without water or electricity which he must feel he can get away with because Santa Vida is unfortunately one of the few ever/camp spots near Santa Cruz. He also charges a cash deposit of ten dollars per bathroom key. We both left wishing we had just parked on the street somewhere. Avoid this place at all costs. It really is unfortunate that the owners don't put more effort and take more pride in their establishment. They could have something nice but it looks like they haven't cleaned or maintained the place in...
Ā Ā Ā Read morefrom what we understood, this park was a boy scout camp in the 60's and has been an RV park for the last 45 years. Well i have to say that it looks like they have not done anything other than the absolutlely neccessary. two out of the three (total) showers in BOTH the mens and womens restrooms were out of commision, the roads were very very beat up, the pool was a little scary and there was only one field for the kids to play in.
If you are self contained and are just looking for a place to camp while you spend each day in santa cruz and surrounding area, then this place is fine. if you are looking for a family fun RV park to explore the redwoods in, this is not the place you are looking for. The "circle of redwoods" pictured on the website is about a 15' diameter. you could not get in the middle of it without brush clearing tools. this is primarily a trailer park for what appears to be very long term low income residents. So while it was quiet, it was not what we were hoping for. the website does not give a clear...
