I had heard "horror" stories about staying in this motel, but I had a need to stay for a few days, and it's the only thing in Livingston. It was $70 for the night, which I didn't find to be bad. I've stayed in some REALLY bad places in Dallas, TX because I just don't pick quality places well. I was very surprised to find the room being as nice as it was. It was spacious, two pretty comfortable beds, mini fridge, microwave, a dresser, and space to walk around. I found a big walk-in closet with an office chair and the a simple, clean restroom with a HUGE shower. There were plenty of towels, small for a larger person, but still worked. There was cable in the room but anything rated M for Mature was blocked and the office guy didn't have the code. There's no wifi so bring a Hotspot if you need internet. There's no vending machines or food on property, BUT, there's a grill next door, a Save a Lot and Dollar General across the street, and Door Dash. Plenty of options. My only "complaint" and it's not really a complaint, was the uncomfortable interaction with front desk guy when we came past the office with our baby in a carseat. We had just gotten back in the room and set the baby down on the bed and had our hands full of bags when the guy knocked on the door, wanting to know if we brought in a pet. I get that he wanted to make sure to collect a fee. We said, "No?" And he asked, "What is in the *acts out the carseat situation*" My husband and I both responded,"A baby" and he wanted us to show him the baby. It was just an uncomfortable exchange the way that it went down. I understand that he wanted to make sure that we weren't sneaking in a pet but a carseat and pet carrier look completely different. Anyways, it was still a good stay and I'd happily stay there again but this time I'd hold the baby up to the window for inspection! 🤣

THE WINDOWS ARE ONE-WAY. YOU CAN SEE IN FROM THE OUTSIDE (we tested this) BUT CANNOT SEE OUTSIDE FROM THE INSIDE. THIS IS WAY CREEPY. YOU CANT SEE YOUR CAR. BUT SOMEONE OUTSIDE CAN SEE YOU. NOT COOL. PLEASE OWNER EXPLAIN YOIR REASONING. WOULD HAVE GIVEN 5 STARS OTHER THAN THIS. BUT IF I WERE STAYING ALONE NO WAY IN HELL WOULD I STAY HERE. Otherwise, I’ve read the reviews on bedbugs and it not looking like the pictures — but we had a room that looked just like pictures. New mattresses. Looked under them on the sides. No evidence of bedbugs. Haven’t seen a roach. Big tv on wall. Decent size fridge. Microwave. Two tables in room and chairs. For a cheap motel this was better than I thought it would be. I’m used to staying in nice hotels but I also pay $120 a night plus hotel fees plus tax. This had no hotel fees — just tax. I normally wouldn’t stay in a motel but when traveling and all other options are out — this was comfortable enough. A/c ran fine in the room. Bathroom is outdated and small but I didn’t expect luxury amenities. All in all, clean sheets, new mattresses, new floors. Would recommend to people passing through. We also got the non-smoking room for reference. But thin walls. Can hear the guy in next room snoring. For people complaining on traffic — get a nonsmoking room and you won’t be on the side on the street with traffic. I’m sure they have the crappy rooms there for smokers considering they will just trash the room anyways. Livingston Lofts looks amazing and affordable rates if not wanting safety concerns with one-way windows on your rooms and not going able to see your car in poor lighting. Will be staying there if I ever come through again due to safety concern on blacked out windows.

SMOKING ROOMS. This is one of my favorites places to visit while researching The Last Witchcraft Trial in Tennessee. The price is very reasonable. The rooms are clean and bug free. The grounds are regularly patrolled by police and the place is never packed. The hotel is dated, but don’t let this detour you, I’ve stayed here numerous times. Bar and Grill in same parking lot with a dollar store within shouting distance.

Was in town for a loved one that was in the hospital so the amount of days we would need was unknown when we checked in. On the fifth day there we went to the office to pay for another day there (2 hours before check out time) to pay for another day. At that time the owner decided we needed to all of a sudden pay a $100 deposit (which if told on the first day would of been no problem, but day five? No, not happening) the owner would not allow us to check out and give us a receipt for our records due him threatening that he’d just go ahead and charge our cards. To get the receipt we had to wait for his wife to go through our whole room who counted every single towel, sniffed and felt every single bed, and wanted to clean the room from top to bottom before she would tell her husband to give us our receipts. Long story short, we have to end up canceling and disputing charges on the card due to more charges. Room 225, 226, 227, and 228 were not clean room 225 had a huge crack in the shower covered by clear tape with mold growing behind it, beds were uncomfortable and the owner woke up everyone around pounding on the other people staying next door and screaming at at 5:30...
