Black Bear Getaway — Hotel in Logan

Nice little cabin that's good for a couple, family or small group. The gravel driveway is roughly 1/4 mile up the hill from the road and the larger lodge is about an 1/8 mile from you. You definitely need 4 wheel drive if there is any snow. The cabin has 2 bedrooms, loft and a small living room as well as 2 bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen with pots and pans. Linen and towels also provided. The selling point is definitely the large wrap around deck and hot tub. Lighting a candle kept any bugs at bay. Very nice view of the foggy hills at sunrise and throughout the day. We were completely secluded from view with the summer foliage. Both Verizon and Boost cell phones worked for streaming music to a bluetooth speaker we brought. The beds could be a little firmer and we couldn't get much hot water in the upstairs jacuzzi but neither issue was a big deal. I contacted the company on 12/15 to ask about bringing a service dog. While they're legally obligated to allow the service dog, I wanted to let them know ahead of time to ensure there would be no issues. After getting no response, I called them on 12/19 and was initially told "no" and then that I would get a call back that day. I have still not received a call back. I can't speak to the cabin itself, but I would be wary of booking with a company that does not want to answer simple questions about something they're legally obligated to allow. We ended up booking another cabin that we're very excited about, so I guess I'm glad that we found out the company was shady ahead of time! Definitely wouldn't book with them...

I've stayed at a few cabins and this one was OK. The jacuzzi tub jets don't work. There's no game room except for a pool table that's close to the wall so you have to use a short stick and it's right by 3 of the bedrooms so no late night playing if you don't want to keep anyone awake. There's no cable so you either have to watch movies on DVD or have an account with hulu or Netflix etc. The rooms are mostly twin or full size beds except for the two rooms on the upper floor. And, the cabin is up a steep Rocky road so be prepared to give it some gas to get up it. We had a good time there but will probably choose a different...
