Nature's Retreat Cabins — Hotel in Logan

Nature's Retreat Cabin in Laurelville Ohio... Ok. So this is a rant!! My girl reserved this cabin in "Hocking Hills" for her and her bf. Now. They are not together. So she invited 3 of her friends along instead. So when we arrived at the cabin Friday afternoon, this Stephanie person called to say it was a cabin for just two people. That call ended with the agreement two of us would leave at midnight. We had my other friends daughter come at about 9:30 to drop off more alcohol. This lady shows up at the door to kick us all out. Now, mind you. We told her we would pay the extra fees to also stay the night. She declined that offer. So about 10 mins after we leave with my friends daughter, she sent the below text to the one who reserved the cabin. Now. The next day we got dropped off to pick up our vehicles and stuff we left. When friend called to tell Stephanie what was happening she reonded, "ok. But I better not come up there and find half a dozen people there. They need to get there things and leave. " And we did exactly that. The point here is do NOT reserve a cabin from this group. It was Nature's Retreat Cabin. You get sent to Hocking Hills for directions and then drive miles away from Hocking Hills to Laurelville!!! False advertisement if you ask me. Plus. If you are not allowed more people. My Fiancé and I stayed the weekend at Fayes Getaway and at first thought we were in for a good experience. Friday night we enjoyed the hot tub and the grill provided and went to bed. Saturday morning however we discovered five live wasps inside the cabin. We trapped a few and released them and then went about our day. However when we returned we found four more wasps inside the cabin. We ended up walking across the street and asking the staff at Faye’s Grocery to contact management as the two phone calls I had made earlier about the bug problem went unanswered. Someone did show up with a can of bug spray and sprayed around the door frames, but we still found more wasps in the kitchen and bathroom. Given that our wasp count was up to 10, we decided to cut our vacation short and go home as we were unable to fully relax out of fear that there were more wasps still inside the cabin or they were getting into the cabin somehow. I am fully aware that bugs exist, especially in wooded areas like the hocking hills, and that yes you might find one or two bugs inside your cabin or have issues with them outside. However, I have never had an issue with live wasps nesting inside the cabin until now.

I’m not sure if this was just a fluke or a regularly occurring problem at Fayes getaway, but I am writing this review so that those with severe bee allergies and bug phobias can stay safe and make an informed decision about were they are...

Nature’s Retreat Cabins are owned by the same people that own Grandma Faye’s Grocery store. After you arrive at Hocking Hills you have to pick up your keys at the store.

We stayed at the Lily Pad for 2 nights. The overall experience was good. The cabin is located very close to the park. It’s nice and secluded. It’s a two person cabin with a kitchen area and a bed all in the same space (studio style). The bathroom was separate. It does come with a hot tub. They also provide a charcoal and a gas grill but you need to bring your own charcoal and/or gas.
