We recently stayed in the campground as Horse Campers. This place was recommended by friends of ours whom stayed here 3 years ago. And it was voted best of America by Horseback in 2022. This campground was very well thought out and designed for the horseback rider/camper. Sites are nice, two covered stalls per site, electric, water, fire ring and Picinic table at every site. There is also an arena and obstacle course you can ride as well. We can not figure out why there are only 6 campers here, 3 horse and 3 regular campers. Now onto the Cons. We booked 9 nights. We arrived on a Sunday, later in the day,6;30pm, after office hours. There was no one around to check us in. We figured someone would be around in the morning to check us in. Nope! Did chores, went to town to buy shavings for the stalls, got back still no one around. Got a map from another camper who was packing up to leave. Saddled up and rode. When we got back, still no one around. Day 2 and Day 3 were repeats of day 1. No contact from anyone, workers, managers or owners. Day 4, we decide the animals need a break so we took the day off from riding. Finaly the Maintenace man, stops at our campsite to question our grill. Ask a few questions. Find out the place was sold this spring. Managment has changed. By know I am ready to leave this campground, but my husband wanted to stick around for the weekend to see how things happen. Friday the place starts to fill up with campers. About a 60/ 40 split between regular campers and horse campers. Needless to say, we packed up and left Sunday morning, if it wasn't for the riding we would of left by day 4. In our 35 years of camping, we have never, not been checked in. Absolutely zero customer service! In our 35 years of camping, we have never not been told Hi, Hello. Welcome or had zero communication with managers or owners. In 35 years of camping, this is the first place that does not empty the manure bunker every day for fly control. In 35 years of camping, this is the first restroom/ shower house that was NOT cleaned the entire time we were there (a week}! The showers were disgusting! The handicap shower has no handrails, no anti slip on the floor, the hair ball wad in the drain is the size of a tarantula and the shower curtain is moldy. I am going to end this on a positive note. Bring in events, in that arena. Barrel Races, Cutting Events, roping events, Clinicians and shows. Use this facility in the way it was designed, and it would be back to having a waiting list to come camping/riding there! You guys are sitting on a gold mine if you manage it right, and that is not...

We spent a long weekend in one of their three-level cabins with three sleeping areas, each with a queen size bed. The cabin was relatively new and very clean. It was quite spacious for six persons, although it would have benefited from more furniture. We enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit on the cool evenings.||||With two bedrooms with queen beds and a loft area with a queen bed, it would not be unusual for three couples to share the cabin. However, it is not really furnished for three couples. There were only four coffee cups, so two adults better not want coffee. There were only two wine glasses, so four adults better not want wine. There is no dishwasher, so you are constantly washing cups, glasses and dishes. There is no cheese grater. There is no large skillet. For $300 a night, they could address these shortcomings.||||The "family room" is in the lower level with a TV and seating for only four persons; two people better not want to socialize with the other four. The lower level has a large open space with no furniture next to a full bathroom. A queen size bed or pool table would fit there quite nicely. However, the lower level was the temperature of a meat locker even though the HVAC kept the upper two levels quite warm. Almost no air was blowing out of the lower level vents, so a duct booster is in order for the lower level.||||If you are a fine craftsman or have a proclivity toward detail, the rustic craftsmanship might drive you crazy as it did me. Finishing details were not done well - boards were not cut to consistent lengths, there were cracks and gaps in many areas, the flooring was not properly finished at the top of the stairs, etc. ||||The bathrooms do not include bar or body soap. Again, for $300 a night they could include soap. ||||I give Pine Creek Horseman's Camp a three-star rating despite these shortcomings, because it is a great location, and the accommodations were relatively...

Horrible stay from getting chemical burns from the hot tub. Me and my girlfriend stayed there on febuary 16th for the weekend and the first night we got in the hottub and noticed how strong it had smelled like chlorine. Got out and everything was fine. Sthe next night we got in the hottub and after we got out and already showered and rinsed everything off i noticed a slight rash and itchy burning feeling but didn’t think much of it or think it was from the hot tub. So we got in again on the last morning before check out and while in there started to feel an extreme burning feeling and got out and showered and finally realized that it was from the hot tub. I called and let them know and showed them pictures. The First Lady I spoke with pretty much laughed at the situation and told me I had to call back the next day. So I call back the next day and Carolyn was pretty much making excuses for the issue and showing no remorse or care for the burns we both had to deal with. So she gave me the owner (David) number and told me to get ahold of him. So I call him and he’s pretty much doing the same thing showing no remorse or care for the situation and making excuses for everything and everybody. Then he finally asks me “what can I do to make you happy” so I just asked for a refund because at this point they weren’t really offering me much or seeming to care so he tells me okay. It has now been since February 20th and I have still yet to receive any sort of refund or reimbursement or any accommodation at all. I tried recontacting (David) to see if he had even starting processing a refund or any accommodations and my messages have been on delivered and I have not heard from them since. VERY STRONG CHLORINE SMELL AND CHEMICAL BURNS. the pictures posted are from 4 hours after getting out of the hot tub and showered. They were 10x worse and more red and itchy right...

My husband and I rented a cabin for the weekend with our 2 horses. I am SO happy we picked pine creek! Met the owners and they were welcoming like we were long time friends it was awesome. Check in was easy the people there to help were fantastic gave us maps for the camp and horse trails. The campground is well maintained and clean. They were building an agility course for horses while we were there for the next weekend which we checked out was pretty cool!!!! The cabin we used was Durango #2. So perfect!!! It was clean smelled so good, nice and cool walking in on a hot day. I was in awe on how cute everything was set up with the decor. The hottub was clean and a nice extra to have with the cabin. Everything we needed was there beside the food which was nice all the cooking utensils / towels / washcloths. The 2 stalls we got with our cabin for our horses were a decent size It may be tight for bigger horses but for our quarter horses it was fitting and great. I wish they had electricity to the stalls though. So if you need to come out at dark must have flashlight or use phone light. They have an arena for the horses open to anyone on the site its beautiful and lights up. There are two ways to the bridle connector trail for hocking hills, one way if you do not mind road riding will take you to connector trail and another way is a trail on the property that will take you to the road to cross, taking you to the connector trail. I wish we would of been able to stay longer and I CANT wait to go back!!!

Stayed in cabin #8 over the Christmas holiday. Knowing it was cold outside it was important we had access to wifi & TV. The cabin is very clean and well maintained! Dog and kid friendly as well! Lower level presumably for entertaining as this was where the only TV in this cabin was. Two drawbacks...The only place to hang out with others was on the lower level. I would have liked to have had a sitting area upstairs where we could gather, cook and socialize. The other drawback was the staircases. While the loft stairs weren't too bad, the staircase to the lower level was HELL. Steep, no carpet and no railing to hold going down until you get to the bottom end. Our dog was so afraid to go down them we had to let her out & back in through the patio door on the lower level! Definitely could be set up more cozy as we didn't feel that. Make sure you turn the heat up a tad in colder months b/c the lower level will be freezing! That being said it still fulfilled our mission to get away from the chaos for a few days! Hot tub was a bonus and I loved the placement of the firepit area! The host was on hand for any needs and helpful, would definitely recommend this camping resort and we'll stay with them again, just a different cabin! *One last note, a previous reviewer mentioned the 'barb-wire' fencing so I had to laugh when I saw it. Yes, it may be a tad worrisome for small kids however it's not sharp to touch, a very cool design at the cabin! (See last photo)
