If you're looking for someplace wayyy out away from everything, then you've found it. Also great if you have good knees. I stayed for quite sometime, originally booked for 10 nights, but only stayed 9. There's a couple things I would have preferred a heads up on.
Again, if you want rustic, charming, quiet (except the AC and hot tub never shut off), 20 minutes to anything at all, and don't mind being left to the bears, you've found your place. I think I might opt for something closer to town and with housekeeping services next time. The company was nice to deal with. But I didn't even try to ask for...
Read moreWe decided to go to Hocking Hilla as our mini honeymoon due to the state of the world. This cabin single handed ruined our trip. Check in was a breeze but at check in we were handed a paper stating GPS doesn't work for the cabin and not to use it. GPS DOES work and from the paper we got lost for around 30 minutes. Walked in after a now over 4 hour trip to our cabin smelling horrifically musty. Opened all the windows and even then we ended up making a trip up to pick up glade at CVS. Rug on the first floor was completely disgusting. I understand we rented a dog friendly cabin and brought our own dogs but when I sprayed a random spot with my urine remover and urine came up. 2nd floor was a complete nightmare. Claw marks on every wall, carpet tore up, found a vacuum attachment in the nightstand, and the worst of it all was the screen door for the upper balcony. Upper balcony had a hole in the screen door large enough for my almost 70 lb Boxer to casually walk through. Thankfully something told me to bring my puppy gate which potentionally saved both my dogs lives. There is also NO inbetween with heating/ cooling of this place. You will either feel like you are being cooked alive or freezing to death. Also, the angle of the cabin is cool and all up until you sit up at 3am and crack your dome piece on the angle. Over all this cabin will more than likely be the reason why we probably will not visit Hocking Hills...
Read moreNice, well maintained cabin that is situated between all of the things we wanted to do. The previous reviews mention the stairs so I'll detail that further... they're STEEP. And thin. As long as you're careful it's not too much of a hassle to get up and down, but I definitely see why people did not like them. Despite the slanted walls, you werent at risk of banging your head against them in bed. There were movies under the TV stand and a couple of games. The couch and rug could use updating but it's a cabin in the woods so luxury isn't the most important. Lots of complaints about a musty smell too, but that's just cabin smell, I've stayed in worse and this is nothing! The Hot Tub worked and was very fun to relax in, wish there was lights outside that could turn on for mood lighting though. The wifi was spotty but not as much as I expected so that was very nice. My only real complaint was that the bedroom porch outside had some weird lil mites on it and it was a horrible surprise when I went barefoot out there, but bugs live outside so theyre to be expected! All in all it was very clean, it was move in ready and all the appliances worked! Would stay here again, or at the very least the same company! Thank you for such a...
