I'm reviewing this as riding a ATV, not a side by side. I do own a RZR and I can say this is a great place for side by sides. But if you want to go fast and ride a bunch of miles on a ATV it won't be easy at this place. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad place to ride, but most the trails are rocky and some are rutted and bumpy. I've ridden Hatfield McCoy, Brimstone, and Black Mountain, and it's different than those trail systems. Our group was on a Rincon, Rubicon and KFX, we all had aftermarket tires and are experienced trail riders. The side x sides outnumber atv's by at least 4-1. If I was rating this as a SXS rider I would rate it a lot higher. As for the people working there, the organization and parking, it gets 5 stars. We were about 6th in line when we pulled in. We had our permits and parked in less than 15 minuets. The people on the trails were mostly families with 4 seat SXS's and there were many others as well. Almost no one wears helmets. Our group wouldn't ride with out them, but we are on ATV's. Also, most of the riders there didn't seem to have a lot of trail education or etiquette. When we would cross other groups we always put up the number of riders behind us with fingers and the last guy puts up a fist. Very few people, or almost none, did this. That makes it a little sketchy when your trying to move out after you think maybe a group has passed. The other thing we notice is when people wanted to take a break, they just parked in the middle of the trail. I can't blame the office or staff for things like this. It's just a matter of experience. Most of the folks at this place do seem to be beginners. But the trails are not all beginner trails. We took almost every trail. There were 3 or 4 we couldn't get up due to ruts or a high rock wall. But most SXS could get up these trails. Once again, the staff and organization gets 5 stars. Nice people and they do groom the trails the best they can. But the area that the park is in just makes it difficult if you want to go...
Read moreOk so this place is what you choose to make of it. Pros has alot of of trails and indoor restrooms a store if u break down or wreck they have staff to help with what you need they sale alot of parts even here. All atv n dirt bike riders must wear helmet at all times. Also most important know your limits and the machine just cause somebody else did it doesn't mean you can. Use your best judgment. Alot of parking camping and I think cabins. Trails close at midnight. $16.00 per day. Cons they don't have any trails marked easy to expert and even though its they named or number there's no ride level which means you have to ask or chance it. Some places may say steep grade difficult. That helps but it also don't mean that the other trail that don't say steep grade ain't just has bad. Also here must watch all other riders they will try and climb things out of the experience and results in major injury or death so if you wanna hit hills this is a place but do it alone so nobody else gets hurt to you wanting to try Hill climbing mud holes not so many which kinda stinks. The last but least if ur on a any type of fourwheeler be super careful this place wasn't made for them its more a side by side and dirt bike cause qlot of the trails are rutted so bad only side by side can go or dirt bike there's not alot of choices on fourwheeler like utility. Be safe and use your head for brains not bouncing it off a rock or the ground because u choose be...
Read moreA group of us came to the park for another bachelor party. We didn't do much partying but did have a great time riding. This was my 3rd trip to Wildcat & the best do far! My first trip was for my oldest sons bachelor party & it happened to be during their 5th anniversary event & the place was PACKED with side by sides. (we ride 4 wheelers & bike) We had a few issues on that trip with drunk & stupid folks & there was a lot of trash everywhere but the riding was still good. My second was with the wife on the way home from a GNCC race. We had the park pretty much to ourselves as we were there during the week. The riding was still fantastic but at that time there was an INCREDIBLE amount of trash everywhere. (mostly beer cans) However on this trip it appears that the trash has been taken care of. Im not sure if a scrapper got out there & made some $ or if the park had staff take care of it or if the folks that frequent the park started take more pride in the land. What ever it was the place looks great! The trails are in great shape & offer a wide range of technical difficulty, from beginner to expert. The tunnel is NOT closed off & is worth checking out. When ya head out make sure you have what ya need for repairs as breakdowns do happen in this sport & it can be a LOOOOONG walk back to camp. The Camping area has been paved since my last trip & it is well maintained. Hats off to the owners! Thanks for providing a fun & beautiful...
