Checked in to a handicap accessible room, not what I reserved. I asked to move rooms and was told they’re all the same. I don’t want a grab bar around my toilet or in the roll in shower. She did move us. The next room was spotless and suited our needs. The hot tub was clean and refreshing with the cooler outside temperatures. The outside needs cleaning up and the exterior is looking worn. The pictures I saw online didn’t seem new. The common area had a fireplace, tv, and tables. The fireplace wasn’t on at all. There was instant coffee and tea available, but don’t expect anyone to tell you. There’s a rule book in your room. Coffee is 730 before the 8-9 breakfast hour. We showed up at 725 and the lights were off and the owner seemed bothered and rolled her eyes as she walked off. You need to reserve the hot tub because they don’t run it unless you ask and it needs time to heat up. The nice part was we enjoyed it alone because of reserving it. The breakfast was a quiche it was good, but that was it. No baked goods no fresh fruit, it was canned, no meat served. The coffee was awful. We decided to skip second day’s breakfast and headed out. The whole stay the owners never asked how the stay was. The feeling I felt was a cool unwelcome, which can be an old Vermont theme in some establishments from the old timers born and raised here. I really don’t understand all the great...
Read moreWe spent two nights at Blue Gentian Lodge in February 2020. The Inn is located walking distance to the base of Magic Mountain and it is a perfect location for skiing.|||| Our Room (#5) was on the 1st floor and was perfect for our needs. The room was immaculate and the bed was very, very comfortable. We like the memory foam pillows they provided. The bathroom was fully stocked and the towels were super soft. The pocket doors separating the entry way from the bedroom were a neat touch to separate all our gear from the bedroom. Racks are located outside the door to hang skis. Breakfast was provided each day and was very good. Waffles on one day, Eggs on another. Hot cereal and other breakfast items were provided. We left full for our day on the slopes. We loved the history about his place and it was fascinating to hear some stories. We went to the mountain at night to have dinner at the lodge. The inn has a lovely outdoor hot tub located in a gazebo. Hot tub towels provided. All in all we had a great stay... Oh and it dumped snow while we were there and the skiing at Magic...
Read moreMy Husband and I have been going to the Blue Gentian Lodge for about 15 years. We stay at least once a year, often twice a year. The lodge is very clean, comfortable and quiet with rooms that will accomodate a family or single individual. The Innkeepers are friendly, accomodating and very helpful and will assist you in any way needed. The rooms are modern with a very rustic and comfortable feel and there is a common area for one and all to relax and chat, watch TV, do a puzzle or play games. There is also a refridgerator that is available for guests so if you want to bring something that needs to be cold, you are all set. Not to mention a hot tub and swimming pool all set in a perfectly serene area. We love coming here and were just there for the Memorial Day weekend and hope to get back there in the fall. Thanks for a great...
