Okay....as an east coast traveler with boulevard motels and the such all around, I'd normally roll right past this place. Don't. It is one of the only places in town to stay and the owners (their sons, really) did a terrific job making us feel welcomed and comfortable. While the block of rooms may look dated and a little worn, look again. Nice metal chairs and tables out front, new model AC units, new carpet, clean room, SOFT sheets and great pillows, quality towels, perfect bed, and great information available in the office and the room. Supplies and snacks available on site, too.||We had friends stay in the RV portion of the site and they had a great experience. The laundry is an excellent value and the location is just perfect. The public bathrooms and showers could use an updating. ||Next door is the Lost River Adventures where we rented UTVs and explored the national forest and nearby ghost towns and abandoned mines. WOW! We spent 9 hours going over 100 miles through incredible terrain. Just spectacular. Taylor and Carl did a fine job with all the services and we appreciated them. A pleasant stay and...

Check-In: Easy and convenient as you drive up.

Drive to the spot: A bit tight but expected for a 40-ft 5th wheel,

Spot: Clean, good power, convenient sewage location and water. Picnic table was clean and nice.

Parking: There was not enough room to keep our truck on our spot, but there was space for our truck in plain View.

Service: The family that runs the place were wonderful. They helped with suggestions on what to do and where to go.

Location: Mackay is a typical small rural town of about 500 people. Not a lot of places to eat, BUT the trails for ATV riding were amazing! The trails were easy to find, the maps were clear, the paths were safe, the views were awesome.

We would...

Hands down had to be the worst night sleep I've ever had no air conditioner and u can't even open a window to cool off because it is literally 50 feet from the highway and the traffic noise is terrible. One of the light switches had duct tape over it guess it wasn't working. The tub drain was clogged so u have no choice but to take half a bath while u shower. Not to mention the shower head was just a full on stream like a hose. Called to ask for a fan and they said oh ya we meant to put in some air conditioners we bought but haven't got around to it. Like Jesus Christ it's a window air conditioner it takes 20 minutes at most. But two of the other rooms had air conditioning, it's not a luxury when it's 95 degrees outside its a necessity take a little pride in your hotel and put a little effort into making it comfortable for people. just because its Mackay doesn't mean it has to be ghetto....

Originally intended to spend 2 days prior to Memorial day weekend. Ended up spending Memorial day weekend and the following week and a half here and don't want to leave. Great spot to unwind and relax. Owner and his family are extremely nice and work hard to make sure you are having a good time. He helped me park, offered me a fire pit with wood, a picnic table, and oriented me to the activities in the area. The weather has been cool and damp but the nice days are stunning. Right on US93 but road noise dies off around 7pm so nights are quiet. About a mile and a half into MacKay. Small grocery with reasonable prices. Two gas stations, museum, golf course, and great off road trails for OHV fun...and you can rent that OHV right here at the campground. Wi-Fi is awesome here. I expect to make time to come out here often.

Stayed the weekend at White Knob RV Park, we had 3 trailers. We enjoyed staying here, there was plenty of grass, trees and open areas to take the dogs for walks. The staff were fantastic, and did not disappoint in accommodating everything we asked. Having mobile fire pits to burn was a feature that was unexpected, and took the RV Park to another level. We loved having the comforts of full hookups and a camp fire. It was a great blend. We will absolutely be returning. Thank You White Knob for making our stay great.

Ed and his wife are the very best hosts we have ever encountered! They came by our camp every day, sometimes twice a day. They brought packages of fire colors for the kids to use in campfires. Our rates were low, firewood was free, clean bathrooms even though we had them in our rv's. They have nice grassy areas for play, they're dodge friendly. They are fun to make treats for at family meals. Honorable people. Will definitely return to this park!! White Knob RV Park!
