If I could give negative stars, I would. I travel often, both with and without my family and this was by far the worst experience I've ever had. As a matter of fact, I don't know that I have ever been treated so poorly. I booked this hotel for 1 night for myself and my children due to my son having a baseball tournament close by. I booked 2 days before through Travelocity as usual. They confirmed my reservations, and the room was paid in full at the time of booking. By the time we got there to check in it was late and myself and the kids were exhausted. We were looking forward to a nice shower and getting some much-needed sleep. When I walked in there was a man behind the counter looking at his computer and without barley looking up, he asked me what I wanted. Immediately, I knew he was either not a very friendly person or maybe had just had a bad day. I told him I was there to check in and gave him my name. His communications were short and rude from the first sentence but who cares, I just wanted to go to bed at that point. I gave him my card and ID as requested. I assumed he was verifying all of my information. He handed me back my ID and when I heard him swipe my card, I became confused. I said, "My room is actually already paid for. I paid for it when I made the reservation online." He quickly told me that I was wrong, and the room was not paid for. So, to make sure I was not incorrect, I pulled up my banking information. Sure enough, my payment had been processed the days before as I knew it had and then, there was another pending transaction (for a slightly different amount) where he had just run my card. When I showed him, he was incorrect, and the room was indeed paid for, he lost his mind! He started yelling at me telling me repeating over and over, "We do this all the time!" or "That original transaction is pending. You'll only be charged once." When I pointed out to him that you could clearly see on my bank statement that the original amount was clearly posted and not pending and that he did indeed charge me twice he practically thew my card back at me and said, "I'm not going to stand here and argue with you. You can go, you're not staying here." I was floored. He couldn't and/or refused to ask my question. I told him I was not arguing that I was asking a genuine question. "If you're telling me this is what you guys always do and that I am only going to be charged once, after I've clearly been charged twice, can you tell me what the process is? Will I get a refund? Will the charge you just made drop off when I check out?" I really was trying to understand what the issue was and how to solve it and of course I wanted to stay, the kids and I were exhausted. When he realized, I was not going to just fold and allow him to not answer my question and that I was not going to allow him to just double charge me he became irate! He kept speaking over me, not allowing me to ask any more questions and just kept cutting me off saying, "Do you want to stay here or not?" At this point I am furious, and I said I didn't want to stay there if this is how I was going to be treated and he looked at the computer and said, "Good, you're checked out. Goodbye." I gathered my cards and left and found myself having to drive around a small unfamiliar town at 10:30pm with 3 kids looking for another place to stay. Fortunately for us we found a Quality Inn not too far away who was so gracious and not to mention, less expensive. So, it worked out, but I will never go there again, I will never recommend them. I have also tried multiple times to get the name of the manager there so I can inform them of what happened and how well their employee "Murph" treats their guests. But I hit a wall every time so I will be leaving reviews on every platform possible. I do believe Murph is just an ugly person and I'm sure he is rude to everyone he encounters. But I think he either made a mistake by running my card and then couldn't handle me pointing it out or he was trying to rip me off. The amount he charged my card was refunded almost...
Read morethe staff was very nice even though it was late(2a). The room wasn't clean, there were stains on the walls & the carpet was gross. we were put in one of the hotels "antique rooms," meaning it had a tacky design theme. around 4a we went to bed and once we got in bed we found a hand towel with feces in it wedged at the bottom of the bed. It was dry and clearly been sitting there for a while. clearly they don't clean their rooms. Being thoroughly disgusted we went down to the front desk with the soiled towel and asked for a new room. the lady at the front desk wasn't suprised about it and gave us a new room. We werent comped at all, just given a new room and accompanied to the new room to ensure there wasn't feces in there. She even joked that if the new room had "problems" that she would have to upgrade us. It was very clear that this had happen before and that they really didn't do anything about it. we didn't get to sleep until 5 bc of it. The next day i talked to the manager, first bc we had been locked out of our rooms, but she went out of her way to tell us that the person responsible for the feces was no longer employed, which later we were told by an employee, that they werent fired but quit. Over the 3 day stay (was suppose to be 4; we left bc of how horrendous it was) we were locked out of our room 6+ times, which makes helping with a wedding a nightmare (and this was a problem for a lot of the guests) after having the worst hotel (even motel) experience in my life we decided to leave early. We checked out before check out. the desk manager assured us that we wouldn't be charged for the night. One would think that the least they could do after all of that is to make sure we weren't charged for a night we didn't stay, but no we were charged . It took over a week to argue the charges, calling 5 or 6 times to ensure that they followed up refunded me. The internet was ok but but they changed the wifi pass everyday even tho no ones around the property. the breakfast was a joke bc it was only offered between 6-9a. the selection sucked which is fine but when you are paying ±100$ a night you expect something more,at the very least more flexible hours. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Maybe if you have a pet and its ur only option, but even then I wouldn't risk it because I'm pretty sure they had flees. This hotel was almost 100$ a night and they couldn't even provide the basic service of a clean room. Avoid this hotel...
Read moreI really wanted to give them a higher rating. Because the staff was good. Everyone we encountered was very friendly. We stayed for 4 nights, Thursday-monday. Other than the friendly staff, the only other positive I have is the mattress was pretty comfortable. Now the cons... At check in on the front desk there is a printed disclaimer that they do not refund for bug infestations... Um, OK... It says we are surrounded by farms and beetles get in the rooms. Well, we did not see one beetle our entire stay. We did have a fly infestation, and little gnats everywhere. But they do provide a fly swatter in every room. The flies were almost unbearable. Pics provided. The bathroom had mold EVERYWHERE. There were splashes of dried liquid on the walls, which wiped right off, so not stains, just housekeeping not doing a good job. Thick Dust everywhere. Broken tile pieces with SHARP edges. There is a small putt-putt onsite. It's open until midnight. $5 per person. Wonderful! Except there is only one working light out there, so if you're going after dark, you can't see ANYTHING. all the other light bulbs were not on/working. It would have been nice if the front desk clerk had told us this because of course, no refunds. She was aware because we said something and she was like yeah, I know. I would probably not stay again. There isn't much in the area as far as hotels as far as I could see, but there has to be something better...
