Recently stayed in their dome December 2024. The dome is very nice, clean, modern, nicely decorated and new. However, the heating system is inadequate. The system kept turning off approximately every 2 hours on our last night there therefore only having an interior temperature of 41 degrees. This made for a miserable and less desirable accommodations. The owners said it gets a little cold; I think 41 degrees is a more than a "little cold". We emailed the owner that night when the system turned off and they said this was normal. We talked to HVAC technician, and they said no this shouldn't be happening. We emailed the owner again the next day about the heating system not working properly and how miserable the night was at 41 degrees, and they should get the system fixed and it's not normal. We were not asking for anything in returned but I think good business would have been for the owner to refund a portion of the stay back to us for inadequate accommodations, the customer shouldn't have to ask for it. All that was said from the owner was.... thanks for the recommendation to have the...
Read moreWhen the geodomes flashed across my Instagram feed, they seemed too good to be true. The perfect combination of camping/nature with luxury/rest? Impossible! I surprised my husband with the trip, which meant that, when we arrived in the dark with a cold, drizzling rain, he had no idea what he was in for. When we stepped into the dome, we were immediately cozy and dry. We turned on our little electric fireplace, poured a glass of wine, and settled in to watch a movie on our computer (using the robust wifi). While we had intended to hike more, we ended up staying in the dome for much of our visit, watching the sunset, playing games, sipping coffee, enjoying meals cooked on the grill/griddle, reading books, and just taking in the amazing views. We cannot...
Read moreAs a first-time glamper, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience than Faraway! The dome we stayed in was spotless and thoughtfully equipped with everything you'd expect from a hotel—air conditioning, heating, a kitchenette, and even dog bowls for our furry child. The location was perfect, just a short drive from several wineries and Shenandoah National Park. One of the highlights was having access to grills and flat tops, which came in handy when we brought our own cooler and cooked up some delicious steaks while taking in the breathtaking views. I’m already looking forward to...
