A Hidden Gem—Truly a Home Away from Home

Our family just spent several days at Rose River Farm Cabins, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. The photos online don’t capture just how remarkable this place is.

From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home, surrounded by breathtaking mountain views and the peaceful sounds of nature.

The oversized windows offer stunning, sectioned panoramic views, making every room feel connected to the outdoors. We loved the thoughtful landscaping—just enough grass trimmed for comfort, but plenty of wildflowers left to enjoy the local ecosystem. Watching birds and bees at work right outside our window was a daily treat.

One of our favorite features was the center skylight—it warmed a spot on the couch that became my son’s favorite place to relax each day. Despite our summer visit, we didn’t encounter a single mosquito, which was a wonderful surprise.

The campfire ring and outdoor patio were perfect for evenings together. It felt incredibly safe, quiet, and private, yet we were only moments away from hiking in the Shenandoah mountains, playing or fishing in the Rose River, or visiting local wineries and honey farms.

Inside, the cabin is just as impressive: two full bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and comfortable leather couches made it easy to unwind and entertain ourselves.

Lovely building. Very clean. Quiet. My only complaint was the highly toxic plug-in air freshener. Totally unnecessary and spoiled the atmosphere until we could locate the source and air it out. Also could have used a night-light or two. Perhaps some coffee creamer. Otherwise we enjoyed the...
