Pontheolla and Paul are very nice and welcoming hosts and people! They made our stay very special, from the moment we pulled on to the property and Paul greeted us and offered help with our luggage. Pontheolla arrived later and was very knowledgeable and helpful with advice on local points of interest for us to explore. The home itself is very beautiful, well kept, and decorated perfectly for the bed and breakfast experience. We stayed in the Ohana room which was perfect for us, not too big and not too small. The bathroom had a cool old timey round tub/shower which was nice and had plenty of hot water! One of my favorite features of our room was the direct access to a nice porch which overlooked some gardens and green houses. The porch also came with comfy chairs to relax and enjoy the sunrise. Wifi worked great on my laptop as well. The breakfast was delicious and unique both days and Paul makes a special costume mix of fresh juices that is unique and delicious. Also the coffee is yummy as well and they even have a Keurig on the top floor if you want to make a coffee or tea before you come down stairs. The grounds outside are very pretty and nice to take a stroll around and look like they would be great for a wedding or some kind of private event. They even have an actual train caboose that is on train tracks that is converted into a room which looks awesome and would be great for a more private experience. We felt safe, comfortable and welcome at all times during our visit and will definitely come back again in the future. Pontheolla and Paul are very nice people and you will love them and their bed...

Where to start…

There’s no signs to indicate where the Inn is. It’s just a random turn off with a dark gate.

Weddings are meant to be beautiful and memorable event. The wedding I attended this weekend was definitely beautiful, thanks to the wedding planner’s efforts to make something out of what was provided by the Inn. It was also memorable but not in a way that’s positive.

I see the owner is quite aggressive when it comes to replying to criticism received which is fine. However, multiple people having the same negative experience isn’t “recollections” being different. Pontheola (the owner) was difficult, rude, and disrespectful.

Wedding guests traveled from multiple states to attend. A large sum of money was spent and we were greeted by over grown grass, nasty and grimy fountains, and dead plants along with an unreasonable owner and staff. Multiple things meant for the wedding were thrown away by staff that were touching things that they had no business touching. “Security” was trying to micromanage an open bar (ALL alcohol was supplied by the wedding party) and limit drinks when they provided nothing at all. While I understand safety, it was uncalled for.

Overall, they had no business trying to control it like they tried to control everything else. If you want business, learn how to act right.

Bottom line: supporting black owned businesses is wonderful when the business owner is reasonable and friendly. I will NEVER visit this Inn again and advise others to deeply consider before...

My fiancé and I visited this venue as an option for our upcoming wedding. The grounds were beautiful. The owners asked us what our budget was prior to showing us the facility. She showed us multiple locations to have the ceremony/reception. Our wedding is in April, do our ideal was an outdoor ceremony and indoor reception. We decided on the greenhouse and proceeded with booking.

That night, we called and asked a few more questions - biggest of which - can we do the ceremony outside in the arbor? We told them we did not want any furniture, just permission to stand there - she wanted to charge us $1600 to do this! She was unwilling to work with us, and when she was challenged on her practice of pricing to maximize her profit - she became EXTREMELY rude! She wanted to include the furniture rental for the second space, even though we did not want them to rent anything for that space.

This venue is simply not worth the headache of dealing with rude and shady owners. There are way to many venues that’s are as nice or nicer for the same price as this one. Don’t trust your day to someone who will get billegrent with their customers. Long story short - luckily we hadn’t signed the contract and was able to book a nearby venue that was nicer for less money - and they were more then happy to accodmate...

Saturday mornings at the Mack household in Bishopville began with a stack of pancakes, “something to stick to your ribs” before doing chores. Mom would be proud of this stack of banana caramel with sliced bananas tucked between each layer. Enjoy your Saturday! #bedandbreakfast #pancakebreakfast #breakfastexperience #southernliving #southerncharm #scliving #spartanburgsc

Beautiful, calming, serene, and relaxing. The couple that run this historical inn are so friendly and welcoming. The property is majestic. Very accommodating. Breakfast was delicious and served on our schedule in a lovely sun filled, historical dining area. Absolutely thrilled with this choice for our wedding weekend. Our ceremony and reception weren't here but we stayed the night before and the night of the wedding. I highly recommend this inn for a calm, relaxing stay. Loved it!!
