We liked this campground. We stayed for a weekend toward the end of August, when probably local kids are back in school. A very nice young woman welcomed us and showed us to our site. There were lots of spaces available and it was wonderfully quiet. We had just come from another campground down the road, in South Weber, UT, which is in the flight path of supersonic jets from Hill Air Force Base, where the noise was intense from both the highway and the jets. This campground was quiet, serene, and it was enjoyable to sit outside! The weekend we were there, the wind was intense, to the point that we could not keep our awning out.
It’s an older campground, but everything is extremely clean and well-taken care of. This campground has RV sites, tent sites and cabins. There is lots of grass. The camp store is nice, the bathrooms are older, but immaculate, and there’s a nice laundry, pool and pavilion. There’s also a dog run which we appreciated. The dog run is lacking a place to sit for pet parents. Yes, there’s a bench outside the run, but it would work so much better if the bench was inside. The showers had water pressure like we’ve never seen, it was almost too strong! Plenty of hot water.
There’s NO TV stations here, so it forces you into the true camping mode – grab a book and relax. The WIFI is pretty good – at times I got knocked off, but it worked satisfactorily.
We recommend this campground to stay at as you’re passing through, and we would return if we’re in...
Read moreWhen reservation was made, the young lady said she was new and thought she made the reservation correctly. On day of reservation we realized we never received a confirmation email, in fact she never took our email. We stopped at the Rocksprings-Green River KOA (nearby) who confirmed our reservation was not with them. Their staff (very helpful) proceeded to call the two other KOAs Lyman and Travel Camp. They could not find any booked reservations under our name and no capacity. We were forced to move on. Unfortunately, our credit card was charged for the reservation. When I called to discuss the situation with the manager he was very short, said "well I would be losing money if I gave you a refund," and told me to prove that calls were actually made to their camp. WOW. As a business owner myself, this is appalling. He did say that he was sorry that the new staff person did not take the email, but he had no responsibility for whomever "supposedly" took the call and could not find the reservation.||||Please patronize Travel Camp or Rocksprings-Green River KOA in the future. KOA Headquarters staff were also appalled by the situation, but because these are private franchisees there is nothing they can do on the finance end. The best course of action is to not patronize...
Read moreThis is a small campground. We are VIP members and love going to a variety of KOAs. Since it is close to off-season time, there weren't many campers here, but it got busy later in the afternoon. This is a quiet campground with no noise from the interstate. The bathrooms are very clean. I love that the showers actually have a door for the shower instead of a curtain, plus you have a door for your changing area. There is a mat on the floor that was very clean. We were escorted to our site, which was a pull thru site. It was very level and spacious. In fact, all the sites were spacious. There is a tent area that was huge, and they have luxury cabins and camper cabins. The owner is very nice and brought ice to our site for us. They have a line area that is open 24 hours along with the laundry room. The wifi was great. The price was excellent and we will stay...
