Caney Creek Resort — Hotel in Madill

I went to Caney Creek Resort for a girls weekend trip, there was five of us. We had a blast! It was very convenient the way the set-up is with the general store, restaurant, pool, and bar on site, you really do not have to leave. We rented a golf cart from Classic Golf Carts. They delivered it to the resort. That is how everyone gets around there to the marina and another bar across the way. About the rooms: The room we stayed in was the 2 bedrooms with 4 full size beds. They were very comfy in my opinion. Plenty of pillows. There are pictures on here showing a cook-top stove but there was not one in our room so we had to go and buy a skillet to make breakfast. It is literally like a hotel stay with a small coffee pot that uses the packaged pods they furnish, towels, blow-dryer, microwave, small sink, with soap and paper towels. It also has a full size refrigerator. No silverware, plates, or cups, etc.. All of the staff was awesome except one young lady in the general store. Don't ask her too many questions because she will get annoyed and show it to make you feel like you are an inconvenience to her. All in all everyone else was so welcoming and nice. I rented a room over the weekend. My family and I stayed for two night, and it cost me $330 and that was after I got upset because the first price was $360-$370 for a room that didn’t come with the appropriate things that they said were provided. I only received three towels after singing a paper stating there would be eight towels, two washcloths and two hand towels. My aunt who stayed in the same facility didn’t get any and when we went to get more they didn’t have enough. The microwave was dirty on the inside, the drawers in the kitchen area were dirty. The beds are hard as a rock. The only amenities you get are a few towels, air conditioned room and cable tv. Also the pool was so hot it felt like you were in bath water. A huge thank you to Stephanie at Caney Creek Resort. My son and his friend went striper fishing as a graduation gift. This was his first trip without a parent or grandparent (he’s 19). The guys said Stephanie was very friendly, professional, and helpful. The rooms had everything they needed and the distance to soldier creek were just steps away. Stephanie went out of her way to call me a few days later and personally mailed me everything the guys left behind. Undertaking ownership of a resort is a huge undertaking, but I am confident with this detail to service, Stephanie and her staff will have many more years of success.
