šŸ’”Save this post for your CENTRAL OREGON trip! As per usual, we practically had the place to ourselves. We love visiting overlooked and underrated spots in the PNW. Here’s what we recommend you check out while you are in šŸ“The Cove Palisades State Park. @oregonstateparks 🄾 Hike the Crooked River Rim Trail (it’s about 2 miles and it’s dog-friendly!) šŸ›» Drive the perimeter of the park for cool viewpoints along the Deschutes and Crooked Rivers. 🚤 Visit during the summer for boating and water recreation activities. āž”ļø Are you familiar with The Cove Palisades State Park? #wanderfreeandqueer #centraloregonlife #covepalisades #bendoregon #pnwhikes #queercreators

The last couple of years, they have really stepped up their game in restoring the campground. The grass is turning green again and they have really tried to clean up the trees and overgrowth. The campground offers nice bathrooms, with showers for campers to use. During fire season, you often will see fire crews using the facilities to clean themselves up and take a breather before they return to the fire lines. Many sites in the campground offer shade, while others are wide open for those that love soaking in the sunshine. This is a boater’s paradise!

This place is excellent! Quiet (during off season), I hear it gets busy during summer months. Plenty of room between spaces, power (30 and 50 amp) and water, with dump station at exit. Clean hot showers free to campers ($2 for guests). Phone signal very minimal due to being slightly in the canyon, but park does have wifi. We'll be back, haven't been disappointed by an Oregon state park yet.

We love camping at Crooked River Campground and have an alarm set 6 months early to book our spots. The restrooms are clean and the shower rooms have wet and dry space and hot water.

They work hard to keep the park green and the park hosts and Rangers work to make it that way. Sprinkler systems are popping on as soon as guest leave.

We normally camp here a week at a time. We like boating and going down to the water, the parking lot at the front of the camp make it easy to have extra toy haulers, boats, trailers ti hey your things to camp, but also keep space in your camp for camping.

We set up space in the lake area each afternoon and have a great spot to play in the water and go boating, skiing,...

The campground is clean and hosts were friendly. There are a couple of short trails to walk on, but most areas are not accessible via walking. You have to drive to the day use area on the lake or walk on a road with no shoulders down the cliff wall. Power lines obscure most of the vistas from the campground. There is a nice hike up around the canyon rim starting from the Deschutes campground, but that is six miles away. Showers were nice, but in the first loop only the ADA shower had an adjustable head and the others that I tried had a straight stream that was like standing...
