Great campground, nice sites, many with water access or views, and many w view of Mt. Jefferson. Our dogs loved being able to run just a few yards to swim as long as possible. Nice mix of reserveable and first come first served. Host Steve was extremely nice and helpful. Very glad we got a chance to chat with him. We will definitely be back! (Only complaint is that from our site, #10, we couldn't see Jefferson, due to one particular tree that was blocking it from view. But that was about it for nits.). 🙂

One of the better campsites I have stayed at. Campsites are spaced out, fairly quiet (depending on your neighbors) and come with a picknick table and fire pit with cooking grate. There are pit toilets and no showers. You can get potable water upfront near the camp hosts. Great lake and mountain views especially at sunset.

Super clean, even the vault toilets were spotless. The reservoir was great for swimming, at least in mid June. (there are signs about algae blooms that must happen as the summer wears on) The views of Mt Jefferson over the reservoir can't be beat!

Website can't be trusted for reservations. We checked online and confirmed the site we paid for was open but the next morning the camp host told us "that's not how it works" We showed up around 1am and the site was empty but did have a reservation tag on it. After rechecking the website it was listed as open and considering the hour of the night we figured we were ok. The next morning we got a stern talking to from the camp host since apparently the reservation folks showed up at 2:30am. They could have woken us up and we would have more than happily moved since we were car camping and literally there for less than 5 hours. Camp host told us there were more sites our size available down the road from us so either way I don't see why everyone was so upset, everyone had a...

As far as views go, this reservoir has a crystal clear view of the mountain. Absolutely beautiful. Big enough lake to take a ski boat on. Calm enough to paddle board. Has lots of cat fish, crappie and bass. Narrow walking trail along the rocky side. Boat ramps. Camping sites and day pass sites. Nice warm water but it's very green lakey with some seaweed stuff. Some designated swimming areas. Lots of foul (pelicans, geese and even bald eagles etc.) Some rocky beach areas. Lots of big trees and sage brush. A handful of covered picnic areas. Have to pay for day use and camping sites. Not too far from Redmond (about 30 min). Overall it has a lot to offer and is...

First of all, Caroline the campground host, is a lovely person with an eye for detail and so willing to help the campers. I was new to the area and she asked me what kind of campsite I needed and she took me to one which I was very pleased with. She keeps that campground clean and safe. Thanks to her the quality of campers has improved, now it is very safe for families with children and old people like me. Haystack CG East is a beautiful set of campsites on Haystack Reservoir's east side. There are trees and folage. The restrooms are very nice and clean. Also, there is water from a well on site for drinking. I have...
