D'Lo has a water park called D'Lo Water Park on the Strong River. There was a one-screen movie theatre, called the "Lux Theatre", but it closed in the 1950s. A portion of the 2000 film O Brother, Where Art Thou?, known as the "Siren Scene", was filmed on the banks of the Strong River at the D'Lo Water Park. The aircraft carrier USS Lexington which was sunk in 1942 during the Battle of the Coral Sea was constructed in some areas with lumber that had been milled in D'Lo. #dlo #mississippi #simpsoncounty #dlowaterpark

This is a great campground to go to. I really loved it here. This place was well kept up and well secured. I didn’t see no trash or criminal activity involved here. I loved the river and the overall beauty of this place. I recommend coming here in late July or early August. That is when the water and weather is not to hot nor cold. The prices are pretty good if your just camping out. You can also canoe here as well but I would advise asking a staff member first.

I see a lot about the tree's and trash, well 1st they can't help what Mother Nature does with having tree's falling in the water, and such. 2nd... the trash and debris is not the fault if the park management and personal, as they do not, I'm sure, tell people to throw that in the water. In fact, I know, they offer bags to each kayaker , canoer, tuber, etc.. to throw their trash in,so that when they meet you at the pick up point, it can be discarded in to the proper waste bins. If each person would care enough to do their part, to help keep it clean, by not being trashy not caring and just stop tossing trash beer cans bottles etc over the sides of the watercraft, and take a moment to clean up after themselves when they have stopped at the sand bars, this would help a lot with the debris in the water. I've been down the river, it is a beautiful and peaceful trip. It was so wonderful! The staff are all so nice and helpful. I was told they do have a cleaning crew that goes in once a month to do cleaning, and someone, in their spare time, does volunteer to go in cut the trees and clean them up. One person can't do it alone, so if you go to the park and take a trip, just relax and enjoy yourself. Stop and picnic, go fishing, just have...

Not sure where some of these pictures has come from but I didn't witness any of the views. We tent camped here from Thursday to Sunday and our fee was $150. The site was quiet for the most part. There was always some unwanted visitors lurking into the late hours of the night. One night we had to call the office to come and remove someone. The office staff is nice and seems to be trying to change the atmosphere of the place. it’s a pretty nice spot for RV camping. They have them on different size of the waterpark. The waterpark does offer tubing however we were scared to do so because there was no idea of where we would end up. there were Porta potties throughout the park, which was a plus, especially for us campers. However, there was limited accessibility to clean running water. you would have to go to one of the RV sites or either the campers restroom. This would not have been a problem if they allow tent camping on RV sites but they don’t and I understand. Equipment is outdated. Dirty and broken it’s unusable so there was nothing for, my children to do. In the future, I might come back with the RV however I do love to camp, but I would not camp here anymore. For the price I paid it was...

It was pretty unpleasant. They sent us on a trip, and there were a couple or three to send us on.. a way where river was sooo low, we never had a chance to enjoy, because we constantly had to make surenwe were not running up on branches, a huge rock bed or sand, where we would get stuck, have to get out of our kayak, and walk it to a deeper spot! It was ridiculous!! Then, they had to come rescue us and another group of 10-12 ppl, as was ours, because of all the debris and stumps, and LOW water levels, and it started storming, and had to be pulled almost straight up a HUGE levee, and I'm NOT exaggerating, in the storm.. thank GOD,because the end point was over 2 miles more down river!! They SHOULD have just told us that it wasn't a good day, maybe another day. Apparently, they wanted that buck! They got it and we will...
