Reader: If you’re in love, thinking about falling in love, or just want to be surrounded by charm, joy, and magic: BOOK YOUR WEDDING AT THE WILBURTON! Wow. Just wow. This place is utterly and gloriously one of a kind.
The Wilburton is perched on a hilltop with sweeping Green Mountain views. There’s historic charm, whimsical art, lush gardens, beautiful rugs. It feels like a family estate, an art museum, and a dreamy retreat all rolled into one. But what truly sets The Wilburton apart isn’t the beauty (though it is ABUNDANT). It’s the people.
The team behind the Wilburton…WOW. Meesha, Tajlei, Melissa, Albert, Sarah, Lottie, Valerie, Dexter, Sam, the CHEF!, the housekeeping crew... I don’t know how else to say this - they are literal angels. A full ensemble of guardian angels disguised as event pros, who will treat your guests with so much care, warmth, and intention it will leave you speechless.
And Meesha…. the heartbeat of your wedding planning! She’s the Wilburton's on-site wedding planner for your entire planning process, but in reality, she goes WELL and BEYOND that role. She is the calm in the storm, a problem solver, and super compassionate. She treated our family like her own. When visa issues threatened our international guests’ plans, she worked with Tajlei and Melissa to make sure those guests had flexible and stress-free housing. And when our budget felt tight, without us asking for solutions, she offered smart, thoughtful ideas to help us save without sacrificing anything.
And then there are the moments in the special details. Like when all the shuttles had left for the night and one of our guests missed the bus - Meesha personally drove him home at 1:30am, planning to come back to finish her work. Or how she and her team were somehow everywhere at once: putting table numbers in frames, boxing things up at the end of the night. I have no idea when she did half of what she did. Meesha just made it all feel seamless.
And the entire team at The Wilburton follows that lead. While we were off dancing at the reception, they snuck into our bridal suite, cleaned it, organized it, and left it glowing. No clue when they found the time - especially since Meesha was also capturing video snippets of the wedding from the sidelines to send us.
Every vendor gushed about the staff. Every guest adored them. I genuinely wanted Meesha and the team around her as guests in the wedding by the time the big day came!
The team absolutely DELIVERS. Dexter’s MASSIVE bonfire on Friday night was the perfect kickoff to the weekend. (The bonfire is a MUST do!). Valerie’s INCREDIBLE warmth & cocktails were handcrafted magic made with homegrown ingredients. Tajlei and Melissa made us feel like the property had been waiting for us all along. Even during our tasting weekend, they created an experience that felt personal, thoughtful, and joyful for all the bride and grooms. Everywhere we turned, the team added little touches - unwrapping and tying up guest blankets without being asked, running to grab Advil for guests, offering tables and carpets for our ceremony setup, hand delivering gift bags to rooms.
There were at least a dozen things I intended to take care of, only to find they’d already been handled. I’ll never know the full list of things they did behind the scenes, but I felt them all. That kind of quiet, behind the scenes thoughtfulness made the weekend feel easy, magical, and full of love.

Location & Setting
You get the amenities of Manchester at your fingertips while feeling like you're in your own secluded kingdom, surrounded by breathtaking 360-degree views of the Green Mountains. This place is a hidden gem.
The Mansion – A Dream Venue
The historic Art Deco mansion is stunning. Normally, a property this grand would be a museum, roped off with security. But here, they make it clear: this place is yours for the weekend. You feel at home—but in the coolest home imaginable. Your guests can freely explore, adding to an unforgettable experience.
Seamless Layout & Guest Comfort
The layout is flawless. From the bridal suite, I watched the ceremony setup unfold and saw guests trickling in. Everything is steps away—the farthest guest room is under a two-minute walk to the ceremony. From there, it's a short, scenic stroll to the terrace and tent for the reception, all set against gorgeous marble architecture.
One overlooked wedding detail? Bathrooms. The mansion has elegant restrooms nearby, and with guests staying on-site, they could use their rooms—so no bathroom lines! Need to grab a jacket, touch up makeup, or charge your phone? You can do so without missing a thing. If you have a dog, it's easy to check on them—or even bring them back to the dance floor (our guests did!).
Incredible Food
Choosing a caterer can be nerve-wracking, but the Wilburton’s food is exceptional. If you tried every caterer in the country, this would still be #1. Fresh, local, and plentiful—they do not skimp. The hardest part was picking appetizers and entrées because we loved them all!
Their wedding tasting event is genius. It’s set up like a real wedding—cocktail hour with appetizers, a seated dinner with entrée samples, and drinks to try. You also meet other couples, swap planning tips, and experience the top-notch service firsthand.
World-Class Service & Staff
The Wilburton’s team is extraordinary—polished, professional, and genuinely invested in your day. A perfect example: an hour before the tasting event, I realized I forgot to RSVP for my plus one. I let a waiter know, expecting chaos. Instead, they discreetly rearranged seating, added food, and learned my guest’s name—all without anyone noticing. Seamless.
The Heart of the Wilburton: The People
Beyond the breathtaking venue and amazing food, the best part of the Wilburton is the people. They are transparent, organized, and truly want you to have the best day of your life.
A special shoutout to Meesha, who made wedding planning effortless. She was incredibly responsive, unbelievably organized, and guided us through everything. I had zero worries on my wedding day because I knew Meesha had it handled. That level of trust is priceless.
Final Thoughts
I don’t know any other brides who felt this relaxed and confident on their wedding day. That alone is a reason to book the Wilburton. If you’re considering it—DO IT. You won’t find a more stunning, welcoming, or well-run...
Read moreAfter staying at the Wilburton a handful of times in 2024, our family made the decision to do a season rental for the 2024/2025 ski season. We rented the Innkeepers Cottage, and could not have been happier with the experience overall. ||Location wise, it was perfect. Minutes to all that Manchester has to offer, but with a private, secluded location that felt quite private. Beautiful views to wake up to, enjoy a coffee to or walk our lab around. The primary reason we rented was for the proximity to the skiing in the Manchester area coupled with the dog friendly nature of the Wilburton. The Wilburton was well inside of 20 minutes to Bromley (our favorite), well inside of 30 minutes to Stratton, and we would occasionally do the ~hour drive up to Killington as well (Okemo and Mt Snow are close as well, but we did not make the trips there). We took full advantage of the kitchen within the cottage, but it was wonderful to be minutes from such great restaurants in Manchester (highly recommend the Copper Grouse in the Taconic hotel, Mulligans just up the road for great pub fare, Pearl's Place for a southern twist, among many others). ||The cottage itself was perfectly appointed for relaxing and enjoying our stay. Laundry meant we didn't have to overpack, the kitchen meant we could have an easy breakfast, make some lunch snacks for the mountain and have a nice family dinner if we did not want to go out. Wood burning fire place kept us warm and cozy after a long day of skiing (and some post skiing s'mores went perfectly with a cup of hot chocolate). While we spent a lot of time with some family board games (some provided in the cottage), reading books from Northshire Books in Manchester while the fire roared, there was also Wifi for when some work issues popped up, as well as smart televisions (Roku provided). ||The owners and staff were easy to deal with, and incredibly helpful. From restaurant recommendations to helping to procure firewood, to finding a service that would come and walk our dog when we were doing longer day trips to Killington, Melissa, Meesha & Lillian were a pleasure to work with. ||Overall an incredibly charming place to stay, and look forward to being there again...
