I made a reservation at this motel in the summer through the Motel 6 reservation system. When we arrived at the motel about 10:00 PM the manager/owner said that I needed a print out of the reservation as there were "many motels around." He said there were no rooms and that the phone was not working so we could not phone Motel 6. Our cell phone was not working. We went to the gas station and phoned Motel 6 from there. They phoned the motel who said that our reservation had been held as a courtesy until 6:00 PM and then cancelled. Impossible, as reservations are held through the Motel 6 system with our credit card. I said this and they phoned again.Next, they said that the motel tried to run my credit card through and it did not go through. I phoned Mastercard and they said there was no problem with the card and no attempts had been made to use it that day. We had plans to visit Sandy Hook National Park to canoe the next morning so we did not want to leave the area. We drove into central New Jersey and there were no motels we could find. I ended up sleeping in a gas station with my child that night. I made a complaint through the Better Business Bureau and it was answered. I am therefore surprised that the previous review said that when he got to the motel, the motel said that their "system was down" and asked for cash. I would have thought that Motel 6 would have talked to the motel to prevent this...
Read moreReasonable and accommodating. I give it a 4. Because times have changed and we can’t expect a brand new hotel to be built every time an old one gets too expensive to keep up. The owners do a great job at maintaining the area. The bed is decent. It’s clean. The bedding is clean. The showers work. The sinks and toilets work with no breakage.
The lighting is eclectic and thrifted furniture is the theme. (I definitely like the thrifted nature which is a nod to the environment). I’ve done my research and new hotels do not provide supreme air quality unless they are certified. Not affordable. The owners will do anything you ask. They are always available. They are good folk
I stay here and this is no worse than my young son’s place. Everything is in working order. I seen one ant in the bathroom But I bet your house has one ant in it also. The owners will spray and that will solve the problem just like home. The floors are vinyl plank. This hotel is reminiscent of what life was like in the 60s and 70s. And we survived. So if you want new then pay three times as much. Most of the truck drivers on here complaining live in a rickety shack that’s a huge health hazard anyhow.
These people are reasonable and...
Read moreI stayed at the Scottish Inn and Suites on Thursday November 10, 2022. I had previously been staying at another hotel in the area but had to check out due to an ordinances with the township. So I booked the Scottish Inn through the Hopper app. So my 4 children and I stayed at the Scottish Inn. The next morning on the 11th the housekeeper came around and I advised him that we would be extending our stay an additional night. At that time the housekeeper replied that another 6 rooms have also decided to extend. It just so happens that the couple staying the room next to mine also had to check out of the same hotel we had been staying due to the 28 day ordinance. So when I went to pay for the room I was told that I had to check out because they had booked more rooms than what was currently available. The manager was extremely rude and when I tried to see if maybe another room could check out since I have the 4 children the manager became even more rude and mean. I feel as though I was singled out because of my children because they were playing with other children outside that were staying in a room. And in addition, there was a hole in the bathtub and the exhaust fan was exposed with wire that...
