Hometown Guesthouse was perfect for our needs. We were in the area visiting family in Cherokee and Remsen so the location was spot on between both towns. It is conveniently located right off the highway and was very clean and quiet. The room also had a refrigerator which was nice to have available. The breakfast was simple which included fruit, oatmeal, yogurt, a variety of breads each day, cereal, Pop tarts, coffee, milk, and juice. Read moreIt’s an unmanned motel cutting cost and increasing profit by using Airbnb to do their paperwork and check in process. I’ve stayed a few times and not once has it taken me less than 1 hour from time of reservation, untill I get the door code. No physical room keys because it’s unmanned, which bothers me. If I’m paying $100 I don’t want to have to sit there and wait for a door code for an hour, and have no one on site that works there.
This is a hotel, not an Airbnb. So we pay the same, we get less, and you make more. It’s just a slap in the face...

Got in room and there hung a used towel hanging on bathroom door. Went for breakfast at 7:10 again no one around. Called the number at desk as there was nothing ready.
