Although Bellefonte Campground is a work in progress, progress is definitely working! We had no complaints, exactly...more like observations and we brought those to the owner's attention and lo and behold, ALL of our suggestions had already been considered and were in the plan to update/upgrade. I won't complain about anything that is actively being fixed or worked, or in the plan to be. Some observations.... Sites are spacious and well laid out. The connections are in the right places, not 30' or more apart. Firewood is abundant and good. The adage "you get what you pay for" really applies, in a GOOD way. The price is comparable to other camps we've been too, BUT, you get a lot more! Not just 4-5 sticks. There were at least 10 LOGS in each bundle. Grading and access to some of the sites is a little bit of a challenge, but that is actively being worked. My wife said the ladies bathroom was great. Men's room, not so much. It was clean, but needs work. Again, a work in progress.
If I have any complaint at all, it's the road noise. The location is good, and I could see how close to the highway we were when I booked, so that's on me. But it isn't a problem at night as there isn't much traffic. We slept great, even with the windows open.
Thanks to the owner and the staff who were all friendly and accommodating. We'll be back to try out the awesome...
Read moreI stayed at The Bellefonte Campground for 1 night and it was exactly what I needed after a long drive. I slept in one of the tiny houses and was pleasantly surprised by how spacious and cozy it felt — like being in a little cocoon. The bed was incredibly comfy (I especially loved the pillows!), and the whole place had a peaceful, calming vibe, even with other guests around.
Cleanliness was perfect — 10/10 — and the bathroom inside the tiny house was spotless and convenient. The WiFi worked perfectly, which is always a plus when you're traveling.
One of my favorite parts was the hot tub — such a treat to unwind and relax after being on the road. The kitchen was fully stocked with high-quality utensils, a fridge, and a microwave, making it super easy to cook.
The instructions I received before arrival were very clear, and check-in was smooth and easy. There’s even a parking spot right next to the tiny house. The surroundings are quiet and filled with trees — no view, but a peaceful, natural atmosphere that made me feel instantly grounded.
I also had the chance to meet the owner, Jennika, who was incredibly kind and welcoming. You can tell this place is run with care and intention.
Only 10 minutes from Bellefonte, so it's close to town but feels tucked away in nature. I highly recommend it for anyone needing a break, a reset, or just a cozy night in a calm,...
Read moreGreat campground. Located 15 minutes from state college and 20 minutes from lock haven. Very quaint , quiet and clean. Lots of activities for children and adults. Outdoor movies , pool , play ground , beautiful scenery as well as updated comfortable cabin rentals. Camper and tent lots have all the utilities one might expect and there is a Weis grocery store less then 3 miles down the road in Bellefonte. Which is a nicely kept historic Victorian town. Pizza shops, Chinese buffet , a waffle shop ,dollar general , convenient stores, vape shop , cigarette store , kayak rentals and multiple fishing creeks running throughout which makes their way to the popular Bald Eagle Area Lake and recreation area. The Bellefonte campground is almost directly across from the lake , separated by bald eagle mountain. interstate 80 is very close by and will quickly get you to the lake as well as many other popular destinations. This is a wonderful spot to camp overall and I would suggest booking ahead of time if traveling when Penn State traffic is in flux. Air BNB places and camp sites fill up extremely quickly dependent on the college game and...
