In response to the owner's response
-The TVs do not allow you to log into anything, let alone even connect to Wifi. You have hospitality TVs and if your expectation is to let people log in, you have them configured incorrectly. BOTH cabins had the same issue, and your server is pushing the profile to them. I know this because I logged into the TV itself using a service code and saw it completely locked down - you couldn't install any app, including Netflix. Please walk down and check for yourself before assuming.
-The rustic cabin piece - please share the call recording since you know exactly what we were told on the phone. To be fair, if we call and say "We want the Three Rivers Bungalow and we have a dog" your response is likely "Great! We have one available." Show pictures of the 'rustic' version and they are exactly the same. This was a money grab to rent out these cabins before they were hooked up to plumbing by add the word "rustic" to it. They were not "rustic". Furthermore, it's not MY job to unhook the sink as I was told to.
It's fine to try and save face on a google review, but not having the correct information or intentionally giving false information is making my point for me. This was a shitty response back pointing the finger at us.
Original Review:
TLDR:
Make sure that if you call to book, they are booking the correct thing.
Here's a recap of the story:
We called and booked a "Three Rivers Bungalow" (BEAUTIFUL CABIN!) that you can see on the website that has a kitchen and private bathroom. After we arrived and started carrying out stuff in, I noticed that in the sink there was a sign saying that if any liquid went down the sink, it's a $100 fee. I asked the security guard who brought our key (they forgot to give it at the front desk) and he said "Oh, this is the rustic one" - meaning no running water and there's a portajohn outside. WTH? We went for this model because kitchens and bathrooms are visible in the pictures.
Secondly, the water to the sink was hooked up, so if one of the kids turned it on, I would have been out $100.
So we walked up to the office and checked to see if they had one with a bathroom available. We were told yes, but the one they had available didn't have a loft...and it's $105 more total. We immediately say yes. We go back and repack/reload everything in the car and drive to the new cabin. Immediately we see it's about half the size.
We went in and realized that it's not even close to the one that we were expecting...it didn't have a bed for the adults but twin bunks. You couldn't walk side by side with anyone because it was so cramped. The front desk guy could have told us this prior...not to mention I saw 2 other Three River Bungalows that were empty and hooked up to plumbing as we were walking - so he either didn't realize, or decided to just not be helpful.
Other issues: The heat didn't reach the back room so we had to keep it on 80 just to keep it fairly warm. The bathroom had a massive draft, so freezing while in the shower. The TVs are locked down - meaning unless you have something to plug into the HDMI, they are useless. They have chromecast, but you have to connect to the TVs wifi which kills your mobile device wifi - again, meaning you can't stream to the TV.
We had to hide our disappointment from the kids so they would still have a good time. But for ~$600 for 2 nights, I expected more. The "rustic" cabins were a money grab to get more people in before actually finishing the construction and hooking up the plumbing.
Now for the pros: Lots of activities for the kids (Con: They are one after another, so very exhausting all day if you want to get everything you paid for) The bouncing trampoline thing was fun for the kids.
All in all - I'd recommend a different Yogi Bear campground as this appears to be the worst of the bunch in...
Read moreWe spent a week at this great Vacation spot 20 minutes from home, the park has a wonderful pool and Water Park, endless free mini golf, jumping pad, Gaga ball, and many recreational activities with a great Staff. Many are teenagers of people with permanent sites. We stayed on site 111, a premium site. The week was about $750 for a cement pad, furniture, and full hookups. The sites are very, very, close together with limestone. More like a city than a rural campground. The entire new recreational and store were carefully crafted for marketing and separating one’s $$$ from one’s wallet. The activities with the Bears was really fun, even with the extra cost. All together a great vacation for two young boys and their grandparents. |I have a few suggestions…..1. Actually enforce quiet hours. We had several bad nights because people were loud. Last night a loud motorcycle idled 30 feet from us for over 20 minutes at 11:30 pm. 2. We really dislike wearing a plastic wrist band for a week 3. The laundry has no change machine and no soap to purchase 4. The camp store should have coffee and be open before 9am. 5. Get a real card system for the food area. It took forever and ever to get chicken nuggets and any other food. The kids had to manually enter debit card information for every transaction. How about setting an account for purchases. I was asked my site number each time, so there must be a way to put it on our account, instead of tracking purchases for marketing, make it easier for Grandma.5. The security gates are dangerous. My grandson ran right into the, thankfully plastic security gate with his face, he never saw the gate. There are two. How about a main gate near the entrance that is staffed by an actual person. Using a code every time or scanning a bar code is awkward. The code is just the telephone number, so is actually useless and does nothing change, so it is the appearance of security and not actually security. 6. The pool needs the umbrellas closer to the pool, again so Grandma can relax. The selling of shade using the cabanas, which are really, really, nice, but again, marketing shade through renting the cabanas is kind of genius. We didn’t purchase shade for our pool time, but we did use the shade of a free umbrella at the pool, which was really nice. The deepest part is 3.5 feet deep, great for kids. 7. Turn the music OFF at 7pm when the pool closes. It was really annoying and played until almost 9pm. The duck races were super fun.|All told, a great week. Very stimulating and noisy, but great fun. We have been told there is new ownership, so there seems to be many growing pains gong on for management. We will consider coming back with our grandchildren in the future, but will not stay over a weekend and will limit our time to three nights, probably Tuesday to Friday. |One last thought, the Staff should be required to watch season one of Yogi Bear cartoons to understand the story. The bear interactions...
Read moreJust finished a week stay. Every thing was great except the weather it mostly rained. As we were packing up to leave we found that one of our slide outs would not retract. We have a Keystone Montana 3941 FO. We tried to bring the slide in manually but the bolts to the manual motor were totally stripped by who ever installed it. We called camping world where we bought it brand new 3 months ago and they were no help. Called keystone and they were no help. We called the office at the campground to let them know what was going on. They were very understanding and said they would send their maintenance guys down. They arrived but couldn't really do anything for liability reasons and we understood that.. check in time is 3pm and it was 2:30 and they had a new camper scheduled for our site. We called the manufacturer of the slide, they talked us through wiring the bad slide to the good slide but it didn't work. We called multiple mobile repairmen. One said he could come later the next day. So we had maintenance get in touch with the office to see if they wanted us to move to another site and they did. Maintenance crew led us to the new site totally watching that our slide did not hit anything. They guided us into the new site. The office advised us that we could stay on the new site for 2 more days if needed. Again the staff was so polite, professional and understanding even though we were throwing a wrench into their scheduling etc. I just can't say enough about them. So we set back up for what we hoped was only an overnight stay.. we got the slide out fixed the next day. It had a bad slide controller. The controller on the bedroom slide was used on the bad slide and it worked. So the same controller had to be used for the living room and bedroom slide.( Pain in the butt.) We went up and advised the office that we were leaving the site that day. But I know for a fact had we not of gotten it taken care of they would accommodate us for however long we needed. It was so nice to not have any pressure from them to get it fixed and leave the campground. On a side note I do not recommend buying anything from Keystone. We have used this camper 3 times and every time something has broken. Including the entire king sized bed ripping out of the wall and slide it was attached to ( with 3 tiny screws) this camper looks beautiful but is so cheaply made. 125 thousand dollar camper and it is falling apart and in places zip tied together. Contacting keystone about everything that has broken was worthless. They don't stand behind their products at all. They did say that the repairs MAY be covered under warranty but they are not sure. They have just stopped responding to me. Don't waste your hard earned money on anything that they are involved with. To the Jellystone staff keep up the...
