Camp Lake James — Hotel in Marion

We had a fantastic week with the family (kids 15 and 12) at this lakeside cabin. The house was beautiful and the Camp Lake James facilities were wonderful. The whole family enjoyed activities, as our boys went kayaking, paddle boarding and swimming in the pool. I enjoyed the fitness center and hot tub! The staff were great with the kids and ensured we all had a perfect stay. We also rented a pontoon boat and docked at our own dock in front of the cabin. The location allows for easy, enjoyable day trips to Caverns/Falls, gemming, hiking etc. The house was absolutely perfect for our family (had room to spare and should have brought the grandparents!). The house has a beautiful double-sided fireplace allowing us to enjoy the cool fall nights both indoors and outdoors, the loft allowed for the kids to have their own hideaway and the kitchen had all that we needed to cook for the family. Must admit that the location is fairly far away from grocery stores (45 min drive), but once we stocked up,we didn't really want to leave...

My mom, my sisters, and our families came and stayed for the weekend in the Lake Side Cabin. We had an amazing experience and cannot wait for our next trip. We are making this getaway to the lake a tradition. My husband and I live in Black Mountain and spend a lot of time at Lake James. It was such a treat to share Lake James with my mom and sisters at such a wonderful result. The highlight of the trip was going on a tour of lake on the Hacker Craft (the wooden boat). The hospitality is also out of this world. We loved the things to do, and the pool is so wonderful. I cannot say enough good things about this...

Hully Gully Cabin at Camp Lake James was the perfect spot for six former high school classmates to come together to celebrate the wedding of one of our dear friends. The space was perfect for us and the hospitality was outstanding. The cabin definitely had everything we needed, down to a bottle of wine and s'mores supplies in the welcome basket.
