Perfect vacation spot for my family of four plus the dog! There are two lofts with beds and a pull out couch in the living room. We used all three areas so my teenagers didn't have to sleep next to each other. That helps keep the peace :) It is well furnished, clean, and comfortable. They have everything you need to prepare and serve a nice meal including a gas grill and tables inside and outside to choose from. There's also a washer and dryer that were incredibly handy to use throughout our stay. With as much hiking and swimming we were doing, we were able to keep up with all of the changes of clothes and dirty towels. It's also helpful to not have to go home with piles of dirty clothes to wash after vacation. The covered porch is my favorite spot to relax. It's incredibly charming with the vines that wrap around. I spent a great deal of time sitting and recharging. They have two nice kayaks, a couple paddle boats, paddle boards and a very large floating mat tied to the dock. I swam every day with my son. Hiking and local wineries are a must. This was our second stay here. Owners are across the street. Very friendly and responsive. I highly recommend!

Pleasant enough. It's cozy a and clean. One negative: The loft with the twin beds, is practically inaccessible... The ladder to reach the loft climbs straight up and the rungs are spaced too far apart. My wife and I are in our fifties and neither could climb it without great effort. I ended sleeping on the pull out couch with our dog. The poor thing was unable to climb the stairs to either loft (He's small). He'd bark all night if we left him on the main floor alone. Still, as I said: It's clean and cozy. The Wifi worked well. They have a Keurig compatible coffee machine. The tv is decent.

Terrific cabin, wonderful location and welcoming host! Enjoyed a relaxing time in the cabin, on the water and around the fire. Great spot for my family to get together with my brother’s!

Basement room is good for kids, but it's only tall enough for someone 5'7" to stand up and the beds are miniature. Place is pretty- small, nit a luxury bathroom, but pretty. Hiwever, there was no kayak paddle until day 4 and no boats at all on day 5 of our stay (her family was using them at another location). The door just fell off the cabnet on the last day I was there and I forgot to text her about it, which I apologized fir, but she completely over-reacted as if I'd intentionally tried to harm her. I left a day early, so there was time to fix it. Because I said I wasn't happy that I didn't know ceilings were so short and I asked if she knew if the boats were out for the day, she gave me a nasty review on airbnb. The treehouse is not in the woods, as the listing sounds, but in a neighborhood with lots of trailers and equipment around, and there are no nice restaurants in town. Just be honest and have some customer...

This cabin is very cozy. Plenty of room for a family of four and their dog. We had access to a paddle boat, a kanu, and a kayak. The lake is just across the street. There are a couple marinas that let you rent a pontoon boat for half or full days. You have a fire ring in the back yard and a grill on the wrap around deck. We had fun finding and relocating the little army men someone had hidden there before us. The kids loved that the main sleeping arrangements are in two lofts. The cabin is close to a few state parks as well as quite a few wineries. Carbondale, home of SIU, is thirty minutes away in case you miss the (small) city life. The host/owner is super nice and very accommodating. The night sky is, indeed, quite beautiful. There are games in the cabin and DVDs, and you have access to a few TV stations and internet. The Red Roof Retreat is a definite...
