Driftwood Resort Houghton Lake, Michigan — Hotel in Markey Township

We stayed in Moose Cottage Sept 25- 30th, not long enough! We loved everything about this place, and look forward to returning. The host(s) couldn't have been nicer or more helpful, with suggestions and answers to all questions. ||The facilities were immaculate, comfortable, cozy, and very scenic .||Vintage and authentic rustic cottages; if you want modern, open, or luxury they are not for you. But for us, and many, it is the real deal. Everything we could need or want were right there. We really enjoyed the heated fan in the bathroom. ||We had a very relaxing experience. If we had more time, we would have broadened our horizons and traveled to other scenic spots for the day. We spent a day fishing with a guide, which was great and very productive. Then we cooked half our catch there at the cottage; delicious meal! ||We drove and walked locally, enjoyed some local restaurants, went bowling, and played some fun & competitive games there in the cabin and at the very well stocked game building.||Also loved the porch facing the lake, with the porch swing.||We also enjoyed the fireplace, and the outdoor fire pit. My husband, two little kids (2 and 5 yrs), and I stayed in the Duck cabin for one week. We absolutely loved it! The cabin is directly across from the playground which kept the kids plenty busy in between swimming and catching minnows with their nets. The Duck cabin has a lake-view and is just a few steps away (short walk) from the lake. There are three separate piers and plenty of space for everyone. The lake is absolutely perfect for young kids; sandy bottom and shallow for a long way out (and I mean a long way out). Driftwood Cabins offers rowboats, kayaks, paddle boards for anyone to use (renters) and a motor can be rented for a small fee for the fishing boat. Also available for rent is a pontoon boat. There is also a large indoor game room on site but that was temporarily closed due to COVID-19 precautions. Loved this place. At check out, we provided a deposit for the following year. Thank you Driftwood. You made our first family vacation a wonderful experience! Looking forward to our vacation in 2021...

We stayed Dec 2019. We came here for a weekend getaway and to visit family in town. The cabin is great. We stayed in the Timber cabin with 3 bdrms and 2 full bathrooms. Full kitchen with everything we needed. If we needed anything they have it in the "lending cupboard". The cabin was very clean and comfortable. Lots of storage space. We took the master suite with two twin beds and pushed them together to make a king size bed. This room has the bathroom attached. My favorite part is the fireplace. It welcomes you to relax and enjoy your time here. The cabin and property has wifi and cable. The location is nice and we had a decent view from the kitchen and 3 season room of the lake.

The rec room is right next door and they have a mini kitchen to entertain. Air hockey, pool table, shuffleboard, activities table, couch and chairs, tv with cable. Spikehorn Restaurant right down the road was great! Check out my review on Google if...
