If you’re looking for a “Hallmark movie” esthetic/experience, THIS is your place. I visited the Snowshoe area mid-January of this year (2024) to visit a friend. Unlike most people, I prefer to plan as I go when it comes to weekend getaways and ended up booking a room here late Saturday night for a check in on Sunday. It wasn’t the cheapest option, and it was definitely not the most expensive option-I wanted to treat myself but also stay in my budget. When I arrived I was complete awe of the scenery, the landscaping, and the Christmas lights peaking out from under the snow covered bed & breakfast. This was hands down THE easiest check-in EVER. You walk up to a little table and they’ll have a note with your name on it and your room key. Check-out is even easier! The owners were having a conversation with another visitor when I walked in, so I didn’t get to say hello/meet them until the next morning (they’re super friendly!!). I did have the pleasure of meeting one of their staff members- she was putting the finishing touches on the room I booked. She was so kind and hospitable! The room was neat, tidy, and clean. They still had their Christmas decorations up and I was NOT mad about it! The decor only amplified my “Hallmark movie”experience. I wasn’t planning on writing a review this detailed (or long) but I enjoyed this place so much that it would be just plain selfish for me to keep my honest, genuine, and wholehearted opinions to myself. In fact, this is only the second review I’ve ever bothered to write. I’ve traveled more than most and stayed in many different lodging areas. The Morning Glory Inn is by far my favorite place to stay. There are a few more tidbits that deserve an honorary mention and they are the following:
I didn’t get to have the chance to have the home-cooked country country breakfast because of my check in being Sunday afternoon, but I was impressed with the continental breakfast they provided. They had a great variety and there’s something there for everyone!! I think of the blueberry muffins more than I’d like to admit I love that they have kid friendly snacks that are accessible to the kids themselves. They had both fruit options AND chips available 24/7. I don’t have any children myself, but I do recall hearing my parents say “just get a little snack so you don’t ruin your appetite for dinner!” plenty of times. I can imagine how much of a relief it is for a parent to be able to give their children that option as well as the option itself for a healthy snack vs. good ole potato chips Although I did not watch any TV nor the streaming services, it is having the option to be able to do so that gets me. Plus, kid friendly (again!!) The location is far enough away from touristy hot spots, but close enough that the drive to tourist hot spots doesn’t feel like it’ll take most of your day away. Breakfast and free WiFi included seems to be more important nowadays. Most people do not get good service in that area so it’s nice to have it Also pet friendly!!
I’m already planning my next trip!
P.S. extra brownie points for the beautiful art on their...
Read moreWe couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised!! We decided to take a vacation very last minute for thanksgiving due to tight timelines and found this place. They were highly responsive ahead of time, which we valued as we did not want to show up and be out of luck on a holiday "weekend". Stacy and Nathan were SO incredibly welcoming and kind to both of us and our pup. They had dog biscuits at the ready when we arrived and they had two cuties themselves. Each day we had homemade cinnamon rolls brought to the room, which we devoured and, on thanksgiving, they made apple pie and went above and beyond to be sure we got two slices even though we came in kinda late. It was an AMAZING homemade pie. Such a little thing that meant so much on that holiday! The entire property is very beautiful and they are doing lots of really pretty upgrades right now so do not be surprised if it is a little different than the pictures, you will be so impressed with the changes! You can feel the love they are pouring into this place. It was so nice to stay somewhere a bit more quite that doesn't have the intense party scene of snowshoe but is still less than 10 minutes away from the mountain. 10/10 cant recommend enough! We cannot...
Read moreHaving stayed at numerous B&B's throughout the New England and Chesapeake areas, this was our first experience at a B&B in the West Virginia. The inn itself is absolutely charming and we cannot say enough about the owners, Staci and Nathan. My wife and I were celebrating our 38 year anniversary and I contacted the inn in order to get a dozen roses placed in the room for our arrival. Apparently roses are hard to come by at this time of year in West Virginia but they managed to do just that by sending their innkeeper on an errand. When they arrived Staci arranged the roses in a vase and placed in our room. Thank you Staci and Nathan!!!!! Breakfast was served each morning in the charming dining area and was fantastic! Being baseball fanatics we had asked which establishments in the area might have the World Series on. They recommended a few places but said that if we wanted to come back to the inn they would put the game on for us which is what they did as the restaurant was closing and the game was going into extra innings.
A truly wonderful inn with fantastic hosts in a beautiful area of West Virginia!!! Highly...
