The accommodations are fantastic! The location is quiet and serene and straight out of a Disney movie - we saw a buck drinking out of the onsight creek by the driveway first thing as we drove up. Then when I walked up to the building, a bunny and a chipmunck seemed to be deep in conversation (or a staring war?) over a peanut on the ground. The next morning a group of turkeys walked up to me, not more than 10 feet away on what seemed to be their own daily walk around the premesis, as I was out by my car. My husband went out about 15 minutes later and the buck we saw the day before and his family of 4 showed up to follow. The proprietors take great pride in their home and B&B and you can definitely tell! Monica is a chef by trade who used to own a restaurant and her breakfasts are divine! She keeps the rooms spotless as well, and both she & her husband are lovely people to talk to and get info on the surrounding area from. The location is a bit off the beaten path, but we'll worth the trip - the views from every angle you can find from this house...
Read moreMonica and Tony could not have been more accommodating or made our stay any more amazing! Spent 3 nights in the Blue Ridge room and had a wonderful first B&B experience. The room is cozy with a comfy bed and spring fed stream out the window that puts you to sleep. The Bald Mountain House is a beautiful home in an amazing location, very quiet yet conveniently close to town. The weather was very mild, hovered around 75 degrees during the day, while it was down 90+ in town. Monica’s breakfast blew us away daily, she’s quite the chef! The views were stellar as well. Our last night, it was only a 10 minute walk to the top of the Bald Mountain with the private trail access, then we got to watch the strawberry moon of the summer solstice outside our bedroom window and on the front deck. We can’t wait to come back!
Ps: don’t believe Justin Griffins review, he’s never even stayed at the house, just a...
Read moreIt was a long drive for us from Florida, but well worth it. We were warmly welcomed and shown the large porch area with all the bird feeders, then inside to the lounge and dining area. We went upstairs to our large space consisting of bedroom with a very comfortable bed, sitting room , and bathroom. The views were spectacular. I loved reading by the window on the lounger while listening to the birds and glancing up at the mountains. After an excellent breakfast, beautifully prepared, each morning we would head to the mountain and walk for hours. Beautiful views, cool fresh air…it was...
