Caddo Lake Hideaway — Hotel in Marshall

I didn't expect so much hatred and false accusations for the owners. The owner accused us that we stole their pillow and a whole shelf of things. We kept explaining that we never took the pillow out of the room. We even described as much in detail as possible where we placed everything we used. However, the owner insisted we should pay for the missing pillow. I refused. We never used their supplies excessively. I offered to pay $12 for 4 small bottles of travel size shampoos. Later they went through airbnb and claimed the pillow to be worth a even higher price than previously claimed. I began to feel they are just trying to get more money from me.

Please be advised to TAKE PHOTOS of the inventories after you checked in and right before you checked out. I never thought that was necessary when I stayed at other airbnb properties in the past. However, after experienced all the trouble here, I became more cautious to keep evidence in the future.Running into this indecency during travelling stays on your mind and really hurts your feeling.

They kept imagining that I take vengeance on them because they didn't provide hair dryer...we were just travelling with a light mood. We didn't even pay attention. They reflected their darkness in their heart on us. We didn't put cheese on bed... They tried to picture us as dirty and indecent people all the time. Could they be racists? I am just...

We had a wonderful experience! I would like to say, it is a private room with a bathroom with its own private entrance that is connected to their house, (like a back room of their house and there is a door to their part but it has a lock on your side) it is not a stand alone cabin/shed type, like we originally thought, I didn't realize that, after reading the listing, my fault, not theirs. But it turned out to be perfectly great! 5 stars all the way around! The owners put so much thought into the room, we had everything we could need. We honestly NEVER heard them in their part of the house, you would never know they are there unless you glimpse them outside on their porch watching the birds 💜 The location was very nice & close to everything. We booked a boat tour with Bill, the owner, which is also an extra they provide and it was extremely enjoyable as well and obviously very convenient ☺️. My husband and I had the pleasure of celebrating our wedding anniversary at Bill and Mary's Hideaway. I can not express in words what their generosity and kindness meant to us. They are the type of people the world needs more of.

The cabin is the cutest!! It was so clean and they thought of everything. It reconnects you to what life should be. Peaceful and whimsical with a country charm, that makes you feel right at home. I did not want to leave.

Mary had fresh homemade cookies waiting for us with a crocheted heart attached to the package and an anniversary note. I don't remember the last time a simple gesture made me feel so special. I thank you, Mary and Bill for everything and I can't wait to come back to...
