At one point in time I would have told people that it was not a bad place to stay but after my experience today I changed my mind I was experiencing difficulties with my vehicle my battery had went dead. I need to charge it so we plugged it into an outlet and the lady working here comes over and so very rudely unplugged the battery charger and tells me that we are not allowed to do this and I asked her if she had any suggestions on how I was supposed to charge my battery and she told me she had no idea and that it was not her problem now what was wrong I was stranded and she told me she didn't care now to top it off she comes back out here and tells me to move the vehicle and I explained to her that I couldn't at this time because of the battery being dead I told her I had someone in route to give me a jump and she said she didn't care she wanted it moved again I told her that could not be done I had to wait so she now informs me that she is going to have it towed at my expense because I can't move a vehicle that has a dead battery and she won't do anything to help then she tells me that its private property and because it was not parked in a correct parking spot she is going to have it towed I looked around and no where did I see a no parking sign or no trespassing sign there was one sign however that said private keep out and that was about 20 feet from the front of the vehicle I told her I didn't see any signs posted about no parking I told her I would be more than happy to move the vehicle as soon as someone shows up with jumper cables to give me a jump she gets very confrontational starts yelling at me and storms off yelling she is going to call someone where did the good ol days go where people helped you out instead of kicking you while your down what happened to helping your neighbor in a time of need is it really asking to much for them to give me a jump or let me use a little bit of power so I can charge my battery and get out of here this is the last place I want to be after being treated so rudely I have traveled around and with all the places I've stayed this is by far the worst save your money and go to motel 8 its cheaper and the staff is much more professional and above all helpful...

The middle section with well maintained flowers shows the care the owners have for their business and offsets the impression the age of the structure gives. I stayed three nights. This is likely one of the best budget motels you'll find in the area. The room quality far surpasses the price you're paying.
This is a budget motel. Budget! You're paying to sleep here! It wasn't made to live here. Noise level, laundry access to clean your clothes, ice machines, none of these things should be considered when thinking about booking a $70 a night motel, certainly not reasons to mark down the place. As a place to sleep this motel was excellent.
Regardless of some of the reviews here that focus on odd things: the room was clean, the bathroom was clean, water pressure was good in the shower. Lighting was adequate.
The bed was comfortable, daily room cleaning. Having pillows that were both very soft and firm was a plus, there's nothing worse than pillows you have to suffer through. AC was loud but cooled the room well and it was definitely needed. Coffee maker in the room, mini-fridge, free wi-fi and TV. The table by the door was nice to have. Everything was well maintained and clean.
The front desk service was pleasant and accommodating. I checked out early Sunday morning, around 7:30. I got the sense I woke them up; sorry! Had a long drive ahead of me.
Location is good; town right across the highway with anything you'd want and only 40 minutes south of Indianapolis.
Negatives: The locks on the door could use an update; they're fine, but security felt a little lackluster. A freezer in the mini fridge would be awesome, but the need to defrost them would be a hassle, I guess. It was loud between the AC and traffic outside. The motel can't help that. You need the AC and the walls were built thin. You might need something to block noise. I used noise canceling headphones; ear plugs are cheap.
All that to say, if I'm in the area I'll be staying here again. Set your expectations properly and you won't be disappointed....
Read moreOne of the sketchiest motels I've ever stayed at. Half step below Motel 6 for some reference. I'll bet a single female would never stay there. If I had encountered prostitutes, trafficked children, or drug users while staying there I wouldn't have been surprised at all.
OTOH, I didn't see any of that. The room itself wasn't terrible, and nearly on par with a Days Inn, and even included a fridge and microwave which you rarely find included in places like this. The hotel clerk was very friendly, kind, warm, helpful, accommodating, and not sketch at all himself. The family staying next door to me was lovely.
You get what you pay for and for $55-ish this was a great GenCon option to avoid $250/night hotels closer to the city. Had my gf been attending with me there's no way I would subject her to the max creep factor of this place though and would quickly pay $25 more/night and drive even further in order to avoid it.
If you're male (or a resilient, intrepid, bargain-bent female) interested in saving some money, and don't get creeped out easily, then I suppose this place is an option. Honestly, all in all, beyond my initial apprehension, it wasn't terrible. But guys, take your wife/gf somewhere up a...
