This is a cautionary review of the room (0 stars) and the diner (4 stars). Stayed in pet friendly room #7 August 2022. I spoke with the manager who said the owner who bought the property about 1.5 years ago was "thinking" about improvements. We paid for 3 nights but only stayed 1 night when we decided at 9pm on the second night to take our side-by-side and go home. We were refunded 1 night stay when I called the manager the next morning. The 1 star rating is because of how bad the room was.
Room 7 is a room where you can stay with your pets, in out case two dogs. It has old carpet which is nasty, smelly, dirty looking. Pet rooms should only be solid flooring of some sort. In fact, any motel recently remodeled now has laminate or vinyl floors in all rooms. The 2 queen mattresses looked and felt like they were 40 years old with spongy, squeaky, uncomfortable springs. The bathroom (which had laminate flooring) smelled musty and foul. The sink outside the bathroom would take 30 minutes to drain. The mini-fridge was barely adequate to cool water bottles. It rained while we were there and the whole room smelled dank.
The diner/café at the far end of the motel was run by a mother and her daughter on our visit. Very friendly and attentive. It is only open from 8am - 11am (10am Sundays) due to a staff shortage. Good breakfast of pancakes, eggs, bacon, hash browns and cranberry juice. Much more than we could eat and at a reasonable price.
Bottom line, eat at the diner but stay...
Read moreI am not sure if I was there at the worst time ever, but my experience was not good. I wouldn't take me shoes off in the room, the carpets looked so dirty. There was an open bar of soap in the shower with a hair stuck on it and the someone had a bowel movement that didn't fully flush. The restaurant was closed all Labor Day weekend and the office was closed as well. I got checked in (was sent an email that if the office was closed, the door would be open to my room and the key on the table), the place looked empty (all the guests were ATV'ing and came back just after dark), so I was pretty creeped out at first. The office was closed when I checked out and I was instructed to leave the key in the room and not lock the door and that housekeeping would be by later. It was the most surreal experience ever! Liken it to the Bates Motel. Pictures make it look so cute and "lodgey", but that was not...
Read moreMarysvale is a very small town so motels and cabins are booked in advance. Paiute Trails is old and only has 8 rooms. Our room was small but had a king size bed. The mattress was a little too firm for me and the pillows are flat. The toilet and shower are on one side of the room and the sink/vanity is on the other side. There was a portable radiant heater, portable AC unit, a small microwave, mini fridge, and color TV with Netflix and HULU. Because the motel is right next to the highway it was hard to sleep. The pictures show a diner attached to the motel but it's vacant. There's a gas station across the street and a small cafe that serves breakfast and lunch. The motel is in close proximity to literally hundreds of ATV trails. Over all the room was very clean and the gal who manages the place was friendly. It's very affordable. FYI - the flies are bad so keep your door shut as much...
