Small and secluded campground. Only 16 sites at the main campground. I've added photos for site 15 since there are none on Abram's website for people to view. I know when I book camp sites I like to see how each site looks like. The helps with setup and to let you know how close your neighbors are. Sites 14-16 very close to each other and are closest to the entrance/exit. There are small trails behind these sites that lead to the bathroom and dishwashing station that is not too far away. Mens has one stall and one urinal while womens has 2 stalls. No showers though. There is another water fountain also by the garbage boxes. Trails are easy to get to and are one way in and one way out. There is a parking lot out a little further from the campsite but a couple day hikers came into the campsite area and parked by the information board to go hiking. During the daytime it's fine but when they are there before you are up it can be distracting, especially since it's not a parking location for day hikers. No cell service in that area either. You need to go back into town (about 30 min) to get service. Specific firewood needs to be purchased to burn as well. Nothing on-site. We bought from Walmart ($5.88 30 min) and another night at a gas station (15 min $8). While there we hiked 10+ miles 2 days in a row. The first day not knowing and the second day on purpose. These are good strenuous trails that can take you up and down at steep inclines, though not noted as such. Make sure you have the proper gear and enough water, especially if you are doing multiple trails to loop back around to the beginning. We went during mid October 2020 and it was getting cold and wet so there were lots of little "streams" to cross. Some of hiking trail signs were misleading so I suggest getting a printed version or one downloaded on your phone. Overall it was a good camping/hiking trip. No way to clean yourself up from a 10 mile, 6.5 hr hike 2 days in a row but if you don't mind that or your partner then you'll do fine. Enjoy!

This is a small, very remote campground on the edge of the national park. We were set up to stay here a week, but after a change of plans, ended up at Elkmont instead. As a result, we only stayed here a night, in site A10. I saw several reviews before we went saying the the sites are small. I don't know that I'd agree with that - our site, at least, was fairly spacious - but the layout was downright weird. Our tent pad was positioned behind the parking spot for the site next to us, and their tent was on the far side of that spot. Perfect for a group that wants both sites, I suppose, but a bit uncomfortable for us, especially since we got in late at night and had trouble finding our spot. The tent pad was comfortable, but I have my doubts about the size. I could've sworn the reservation said it could fit a 9x12 tent, which is the size of our tent when the sunroom isn't set up, but our tent was too large for the pad. We ended up fudging the set-up so we could get everything to fit. There's one restroom in the campground and it's a bit of a hike to get to it; there's a paved path between two campsites, and the restroom is the lit building in the woods behind them. It's a long walk in the middle of the night, but not too bad if you have a flashlight. There are flush toilets and running water. While many of the sites aren't on the river directly, there is access to the water either through empty sites or between some of the sites.

Quiet. Peaceful. A hidden gem! Husband and I had a great time. Booking was easy, and the campground was clean and the creek beautiful! If you love Quiet, then this place is it! There were a couple families staying further down from us yet at night you could literally hear a pin drop it was so quiet. All that can be heard is the water rushing over the rocks. During the day however, bird songs fill the air and the camp comes to life! The bathrooms were clean (minus the couple bugs that snuck there way in there but that’s expected) and everyone was friendly. Also during the day you will see several hikers walk passed to gain access to trailheads via the campground, but this place is definitely not a busy spot. We will definitely be escaping here again soon! There is NO cell service though, but that’s what we want when we go camping anyway! To unplug and admire Gods creation. And here? There’s plenty to look at and love.

We stayed at campsite 9 which I would highly recommend, it’s the last on the right along abrams creek . Get this site or campsite 8 right before it for what I think are the best sites and parts of the river for recreation. Also here at the campground you have direct access to a couple trailheads, one of which being Abraham’s Falls. This hike is 10.2 miles round trip. I dislike ratings of easy moderate and hard as I don’t think they’re thorough enough... so on a scale of 1-10 of difficulty I’d rate it a strong 7. My partner and I smashed this hike out from 4:15-8pm which was pretty intense but we wanted to be back before dark. Anyways, allow yourself and extra hour than us and DO THIS HIKE, it rules. Reward yourself with a swim and snack at the falls. The nice thing is when you get back... you’ll be right at your site for beer and dinner. On that note , word to the wise. Make sure you’re prepared with everything you need. Amenities are a 25-30...
