STAY AWAY from Laurel Valley Mountain Resort!!!!! I booked a room through AirBnb for a 2-night stay by myself for a new year goal setting retreat. I assumed I would be sent access instructions at least by the time I arrived. I arrived 1 hour after check in and still no instructions. I got out of my car and there was a couple standing there talking on the phone. They told me they had been there over an hour with the same issue and had not idea how to access their room and they were super upset. After calling myself I received access instructions. The room I stayed in was decent but had a lot of deferred maintenance. And I am not the picky type and usually roll with that kind of stuff which I did. Honestly the view was incredible but that was not enough to offset how dated this place is and poor the service is. During my stay I had 3 different sets of people come to my door trying to access my room thinking it was theirs which I am guessing they also did not receive clear check in instructions. To top it off, after my stay, the owner filed a claim against me through AirBnB saying I severely scratched the wood floors and asking me to pay hundreds of dollars for the floors to be repaired. These scratches were there upon my arrival and were clearly done by a dog on a previous stay (this was on top of a whole bunch of other deferred maintenance inside and outside of my unit). I am beyond clean, cautious and respectful anytime I stay at a AirBnB and was blown away they would attempt to accuse me of this. I responded to the owner directly and told her this must be a mistake and that these are clearly dog scratches that were already there when I check-in for my stay and she never responded. Long story short AirBnB conducted their own investigation into their claim and found it to be false and rejected it and apologized to me for the hassle. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of...

If I could give zero stars I would! Customer service is the worst! We had mouse poop in the extra bedding, long black hair on the bed sheets and on the floor. Lamps didn’t work. Lady hung up on my husband when we call to say we weren’t staying there. It’s been almost two weeks now and I still don’t have my money refunded like they said it would be. I called today and the lady hung up on me and blocked my number because she didn’t like me telling her this is NOT how you run a business and I want my money back. They have basically taken my money and we didn’t stay there! I paid for a clean room and they DID NOT hold up to their end. Do not stay here! You will deal with the management company that is horrible! I will also add, we were there because my family was in town from different states for my 97 year old grandfathers celebration of life. So this took time away from them. We ended up driving an hour home at 2 am because we didn’t feel comfortable staying at a dirty place with terrible service!

Edit: to the response…. How dare you say we declined your service. Thats not true. We had you come back and change the linens from the MOUSE POOP! When we got back is when the lights didn’t work, hair all on the ground. Your service was horrible. I should have read reviews before booking with you to begin with. I am not the only one that has dealt with mouse poop. You promised to give us a refund after talking with the “owner” of the resort. Which I believe never happened. You had no intentions of refunding us the money...

MICE!!

Stayed here one night on my relocating trip to Arkansas. I booked my room through Agoda, so part of this falls on them. Once booked, I arrived at the location, but it was confusing bc I saw no signs of check-in or anyone around. There were some contractors there who were doing some work in the basement.

I had to call the number given to me in my email reservation to get proper directions and door codes to the building and to my room. This information could have been sent to me way before as it took me about 2 hours to get there. So I think that's more on Agoda as I learned speaking to the manager that they have had issues getting information over to guests, but I digress.

My room was nice and clean, except I believe the bedsheets could have been cleaner. My rooms keylock battery died, and I was forced to use the spare physical key they had in the lockbox. I do applaud the prompt service and reply to getting help with that.

My main issue that they have MICE! I woke up in the middle of the night at about 530am and heard a rustling, I realized that it was my snack bag that I had brought in and quickly grabbed my phone and saw a mouse sitting by it. Luckily, he only got to one chip bag that was mostly empty anyway, but it kept me up with it running around.

All I wanted was some good rest after driving 8 hours, but I did not get enough. I would not...

Our experience was absolutely awful from start to finish. It’s as if the hosts completely forgot we existed. When we arrived, we had no idea how to get in—no instructions, no access codes, nothing. We rang the bell several times before another guest finally let us in and mentioned we should’ve received an email with entry codes. We never did. We tried calling, but no one answered. Eventually, we got a text from the host asking for our reservation name—only then did they finally send the welcome email we should have received long before arrival. We were relieved to finally reach our room, but that relief ended the second we opened the door. The place was a disaster—trash on the floor, bed completely unmade, clearly not cleaned at all. It was obvious the hosts had completely forgotten about our stay. Their “solution” was to send a housekeeper, but she was 45 minutes away. This was late in the evening, and we were just trying to get some rest. We declined and asked for a refund instead. Utterly disappointing. The lack of communication and basic hospitality was shocking. I would strongly advise avoiding this place until they figure out how to manage their guests properly.
