We stayed at the Sea Quarters in August and really did not enjoy our stay. The condo felt pretty outdated for $800+ a night, but what was really a letdown was how hard the beds were! They were so uncomfortable we could barely sleep, not to mention that on our first night there was something beeping every 30 seconds all night long that kept us up. It was so uncomfortable that we decided to just leave a night early as we really couldn't stand the thought of another painful, sleepless night. I would also not recommend staying in the Sea Quarters if you have a toddler - there was a very steep and winding staircase that we felt was a huge hazard for our 2.5 year old and kept us on edge the entire time. ||There was a list of 5 restaurants so we thought we would be covered eating there for all our meals. But when we were there, there didn't seem to be anywhere open for breakfast which left us roaming 10-25 minutes off the property every morning to find something to take back. The only thing we did enjoy there was the beach and pool, which were very nice, but we found the whole complex to be confusing and difficult to navigate especially as a guest who isn't told upon check-in where these things are or what is open (you are just given a generic welcome packet...it is not very guest oriented there). Overall it was just a big disappointment for our only getaway of the year and we won't be...
Read moreIt was nice driving through the property. Definitely not walkable unless you’re trying to get a workout in. We had a 2 bedroom/2 bath condo and it was spacious and clean. We had to ask for extra trash bags and paper towels from housekeeping, which arrived past 9 pm.
Everything was fine until we got to the Cabana club. We got there early so we were the first few people to use the pool. It was gross! There were visible hair and bugs floating like they didn’t even attempt to vacuum the pool over night. You couldn’t pay me to dunk my head in there. I’ve seen cleaner public pools than this and was disappointed as this place isn’t cheap! Unfortunately, our child got HMFD from being in their pool. We’re 100% sure since she sat on the ledge and in the incline and all her rash/lesions are concentrated on the bum/leg area.
I also got food poisoning from one of their restaurants, which I spoke to a manager but never heard back from again. I was so sick I couldn’t drive home. I’ve tried to contact management regarding our stay, but no one even tried to return my call. They obviously don’t care if you’re just visiting and not a member. Safe to say we won’t be...
Read moreThis is marketed as a hotel, but it's really not a hotel. It's a Country Club and wedding venue with small Cottages for weddings. We booked a cottage thinking it was an actual hotel; but we were the only people around. The restaurant and bar were closed, the pool was closed and even the beach access was closed. I understand it's not yet "peak" season, but it was a beautiful 22° day and we specifically booked the hotel for the Pool and Beach, so it was incredibly disappointing to not be able to use these on a beautiful day. They also have no cleaning service and you're expected to clean the rooms yourself. Again, this is fine but it was not clear when booking that this was the situation.
The grounds of the hotel are nice enough, and the few staff we did interact with (at the Country Club) were very nice. I just think it's very unfortunate that it was not more clear that this was not an actual hotel or resort. We ended up leaving a full day early, even though we'd prepaid for the room, which is obviously not ideal but a reflection of how disappointing the...
