I have a chronic illness and scheduled a 2 night minimum stay here at 342.00 dollars to help with pain and joint mobility. ||||The cabins and hot springs do not furnish anything, one needs to bring everything from bedding to food. There is a bathroom but an old outhouse. No running water, nothing, the fee too much for what is not provided, and I expected peace and quiet. By staying in a cabin one can soak all night and all day, which felt like a perfect thing for me to do. ||||My vision of the experience was to embrace a quiet, peaceful, healing time but it was ruined. My advice is know before you go because it was during the hotel reconstruction and firewood cutting with a chainsaw right next to my cabin. The tractor, backhoe, and chainsaw noise were overwhelming. When I asked about the noise one employee said, "we work here, and the firewood needs to get done." one other employee visited my noisy cabin and asked if she could help me move to a quieter one, but I refused the offer. At that time, I'd already driven 700 miles to get there and was exhausted. It didn't seem like something i could do physically, at that time. My experience here was ruined. I couldn't relax, the noise gave me anxiety because I'd expected something different. ||I'm not sure why management chooses to do firewood when guests are paying alot of money, and why doesn't management give us a choice? They could announce on their facebook or any social media so we can choose NOT to go during these busy and super noisy times. ||I would not have stayed there if I'd known. It felt like the paying guest was treated with complete and...

I'm leaving this review as a precautionary warning to anyone with sensitive skin. First off I would like to say the winter time visit was ok. Cabins need locks 100% and bigger wood burning stoves. Our cabin never got warm enough no matter how late we stayed up stoking the fire and adding wood. We stayed for 3 days. January 11th through the 13th. There are no showers and no running water to wash off after the hot springs. Which is why the 1 star rating. I had never been to any hot springs before this adventure and Ive live in the PNW most my life. I used the springs friday night, saturday night and Sunday morning. When I arrived home late Sunday, I could tell my skin was having issues. I took a quick shower to rinse off and immediately began noticing the reaction to the hot springs. Its now been 7 weeks, and I am still suffering from dry itchy skin that is burning on the daily. It first started with hives everywhere on my body, coupled with a burning lifted rash. My skin is miserable and the feeling of needles poking my skin is a constant. The reaction was a complete shock and I might add there are ZERO warning signs regarding this issue. So to those who have sensitive skin or excessive dry skin in the winter, I advise you to talk to your doctor first, or only dip your feet in it and test your skins reaction after one day.

My reaction was heavily delayed and my doctors have no idea what or when it will go away. Its slowing improving. By slowly I mean turtle speed. I cannot express enough the caution to take here. I will never advise anyone to...

Apparently burgdorf cabins and hot springs can charge their customers just fine to make reservations, sending out a confirmation and Making sure that the money is taken from our accounts... but they do NOT reach out to tell their paying customers that they are closed and the roads aren’t drive-able. When calling to get the check in times (since the confirmation email sent didn’t include it), we don’t even have the decency to talk to a person. Just get a recorded message. We booked this months ago.

When we called, it says they hope to be open sometime in June. Well our reservation was for today through Friday. Already took the time off work and spent the money on food and supplies. Not once did we get an email or call saying our reservation is no good. Not once did we get any contact about it being closed. Our accounts still show a charge on them and as far as we knew, it was good to go.

Not happy about this situation at all and furious that no one reached out to us. Time money and effort all wasted for a trip that wasn’t even going to happen. If I could give a negative star review, I would.

Update: finally got ahold of someone, said the roads are closed. Will call back when they hear more about that. However, why the F* did no one call us ahead of time?! Will discuss a possible refund when...

Wow! I cannot share enough, how amazing this place is! Serenity and peace being an understatement. Clean cabins, secluded hot springs, and enough wood to keep you warm all night long. Even though this place was only accessible my snowmobile in the winter, and ours broke down 6 miles into the 25 mile trek- they absolutely saved us! Offering to come tow our sled, gather our supplies, and even give us a ride back to our car at the end- as a hostel manager myself, I have NEVER experienced such great hospitality. If you're wondering if this is the place for you- it is. No matter WHO you are, we could all use the disconnect and a community that supports that pursuit. This is that. To put it simply, we've already started planning next years trip- and its only been two weeks since this one :, ) THANK YOU; Bill, Leland and Lisa- you are truly such a wonderful team : ) (Seriously though, Bill is killer and also a generally awesome person that we loved getting to know- so shout out Bill TWICE)

My husband and I spent one night here this winter and it was perfect. Everyone we met who worked there was wonderful. A couple of the guys helped us pull our snowmobile from the bank when we had a little accident and made what I thought would be a huge headache, a breeze. We stayed in Busby cabin, which had everything we needed. The outhouse was right outside, the wood furnace kept us nice and warm and the mattress was comfortable. We used the hot springs twice while we were there and it was extremeley relaxing. They had a dressing room which they keep warm and has electricity. We didn't have any snacks from the shop but it was very cozy and warm when we went to check in and out. This is not for everyone cause it's definitely a camping/glamping situation, but if you're up for it, I can't recommend it enough. Already planning when we'll go back!

My wife and I visit McCall several times a winter but never had a way to visit the hot springs until late this spring. We enjoyed a beautiful drive up the historic Warren Wagon Road, paved all but the last two miles. Burgdorf is old and historic, we knew that, so our expectations were realistic. We didn't expect a resort but more a chance to enjoy a part of the history of Idaho. We loved it! It's rough but awesome. Clean, super relaxing and therapeutic. Water temps vary from one end of the pool to the other which worked perfectly so we could spend as much time in the pool as we wanted. Never too hot or too cool. And the little bonus 'hot (bath) tub' was well, a bonus. We highly recommend a visit!
