I've been going to Bogue Chitto Water Park for many years. Well we went to Bogue Chitto July 16th to July 18th. On the 18th at 9:00am the park manager came to our camping site(were paid up till 1:00pm) and told us we had to pack up and move cause the site we were on was reserved for a camper coming in.My husband said to him we had the site till 1:00pm. The park manger told us he'll hold the camper over to the office till we can get up and pack.I had 7 teenagers waiting to go back down the river so my husband went to the office to see if we could go down the river.Its around 11:30am.The office told him as long as were off the property by 1:00pm or we'll be charged. Read moreI am part of a non-profit cycling team called Texas 4000 for Cancer. We were graciously hosted in the cabins at the Bogue Chitto Water Park for the evening. The park ranger, Eddie, was super informative and made sure we had everything we needed after leading the way to the cabins. ||||Large cabins sleep 8 (in beds) and small sleep 4 in beds. Can fit more on couches or floor if needed. Showers and kitchen were available and tidy. There is electricity and running water.||||The water park had a nice view of the river and it was peaceful to be so close to nature. Lots of shade with the trees. Read moreTalked with the current manager about what is trending at the park. Due to Staff shortages, there is NO DAY-USE ALLOWED at the park. ONLY Overnight RV and Cabin rentals. The Boat ramp IS available for pickup and drop off only. They ALSO have hiking trails for overnighters. The future is bright because the park is to receive allocation from the state For Improvements probably beginning next year ( 2024 ). I was allowed and able to drive thru the park & liked what I saw. SOME of the campsites COULD have been cleaner ( but a camper IS " roughing it " right ? ). The AREAS around ALL the Cabins WERE neat and clean.
