Hello there Traveler's of this beautiful planet. I am the current Camp Host here at Big Lagoon. We are open year around, and can accommodate most Rvs, or vehicles with trailers. There are only 2 electric sites, and sorry no dump station. Luckily if you drive 4 miles south, and get off at Seawood Dr., and head back north the next exit is the Northbound Rest Stop with a place to unlaoad septic. While you are here feel free to ask any questions. During the summer within the Day use area of Big Lagoon County park you can rent Kayaks, or paddle boards to enjoy the great Lagoon. There are great fishing spots here on the Lagoon as well. You can catch Searun Cutthroat Trout, Steelhead, Rainbow Trout, and once in a while the rare ocean fish that make their way through the beach during winter. The beaches have beautiful stones to collect if you are a rockhound like myself. Some of the beach stones are Agate, jade, quartz, moonstone, jasper, and many more. (THE OCEAN IS VERY DANGEROUS HERE IT HAS A STRONG UNDERTOE. DO NOT GO NEAR THE WATER, OR LET YOUR DOGS GO NEAR THE WATER.) I do sell firewood here, and we give great deals. Can't wait to see the returning campers, and enjoy meeting yall new to the area. Feel free to message me for any questions. SORRY NO RESERVATIONS. Also if you steal my boat without asking i will wake you, or anyone up in the morning, and yell at them for stealing my stuff. Even if...

Verizon speeds hit 10 Mbps download and 4 Mbps upload but it was inconsistent. TMobile was 11/3. AT&T was 10/0.5. Dense tree cover so Starlink wouldn't work for most sites. Verizon and T-Mobile speeds were with a roof mounted Pepwave antenna, ATT with phone.

This was a pretty neat little park because of the dense greenery and access to the lagoon/spit. There are two sites with water/30 amp electric and we managed to snag one after arriving on a Sunday evening. The rest were dry, though some are right on the water with beautiful tree cover. Site quality was highly mixed, ours was fairly overgrown and the fire pit unusable because of close vegetation. Slightly unlevel side to side, more front to back. Dirt/grass/mulch pad. We were separated from the other hookup site with a big log - not ideal but we needed the juice due to poor solar from shading.

Showers and bathroom available. Kayak rental and cheap firewood too.

We used this place as a less expensive base to explore Redwood NP. We're too long for the various state parks and NPs at 30 ft but we fit fine in the hookup site. There was an additional loop that might be hard to maneuver in with a bigger trailer - they have signs advising you not to try.

The access road is in terrible shape with potholes. I've driven on better USFS roads in the...

Big lagoon is a beautiful campground. It's right on the lagoon. Spot 9 looked amazing! Right on the water. There were a few. It's a 1st come 1st serve with 2 spots that have electric and water. We had a trailer so we got lucky snagging one of those. They were sadly not on the water but beautiful and good size. All with fire Pits and tables. Get there before 1 or 2 to ensure the spot you want. They have alot of vegetation that gives some privacy. Restrooms and one shower that's coin operated (¢50/ 5 mins) and a good temp but non-adjustable. There's great hiking in the area and great beach access as well. There's a place for tide pooling a short drive away. A lot of people fish for trout in the lagoon. The hospitality of the camp host, Dude, really added a lot to the experience. Besides being very kind and knowledgeable about the area, he also taught us about the local flora and fauna. He told us about a free dumpsite nearby as well. He really made this campspot special and it's one we will...

Great first come first serve campground. We arrived early on Wednesday before the long weekend and 'Dude', the congenial camp host directed us to the open premier spot, #25! Great beachfront spot with a stunning vista. The campground is lovely overall with hot showers for $1 in quarters and clean restrooms. Dude is super. Very friendly and helpful all around. He also carves and fabricates unique and interesting stringed musical instruments from driftwood that he sells on the side to fund his vacation account. Park is super dog friendly. Our retriever was doing laps in the lagoon multiple times a day. Right now there is a breach in the jetty so you have to be aware of the jellyfish that are washing in from the open ocean and avoid them.

Super nice campgrounds! It’s first-come-first-serve, and gets quite busy on the weekends. It’s also dog-friendly, which is a plus! Price is $25 per night, with max stay of 7 nights in a row. Not much privacy, but we didn’t mind as we were very close to the beach. The host Dude is very kind and helpful as well! There are restrooms and a coin-operated shower. The only issue I had with the restrooms is that there is no liquid soap dispenser, but only a bar soap. Hopefully, that will change! We were at campsite #2 right at the exit, which is spacious and close to a potable water spigot, albeit the farthest away from the restrooms. Kayaks are also available for rental nearby. Overall, it was an awesome experience!
