We were astounded at the comfort and hospitality offered by Sherwood, Melody, and Scott at Bella Collina. Their facility is excellent, with great rooms, decor and amenities, but it was the little touches (throw pillows, sparkling water in your room, wine hour, constant snacks, board games, Netflix) that really show just how much they care here.
I would be remiss to not begin with how excellent Sherwood's breakfasts are. This is no country cooking, but instead is gourmet, locally-sourced, and beautifully presented art of food. It's palpable how much time, energy, and effort Sherwood puts into his breakfasts.
Scott and Melody are wonderful, hands-on owners that have a lot of pride in what they've created. Scott even filled up the hot-tub (oh yes, there's a hot tub) for us on our first day so we could enjoy it that night. They have a beautiful fire pit area if you want to build a fire. I love how all the photos on the walls are taken by Scott, who is a great nature photographer.
If you are not familiar with the area, we were initially concerned with the proximity to wineries. Fear not, everything is within easy reach from Bella Collina. There are so many little wine towns around McMinnville (the main city in wine country) that are all pretty easy to get to via country roads. We never felt like we were far away from anything, and there are dozens to try within 30 minutes. Sherwood is always happy to give recommendations. There is even a great winery in Amity (Coehlo) that is less than 5 minutes away. Also, eat at the Blue Goat while you are in town (thanks for the recommendation Sherwood!).
We loved our stay, which was far too short, and plan on returning at least once a year because of how wonderful it was. Bella Collina is, without a doubt, the premier destination for visiting Oregon wine country. We would recommend...

We’ve stayed at many B&Bs, but nothing compares to Bella Collina – and that’s entirely thanks to Sherwood, the best innkeeper ever. He’s not only incredibly welcoming and full of charm, but he brings such warmth and character to the whole experience. Without Sherwood, Bella Collina simply wouldn’t be the same.
From the moment you arrive, you feel like you’re home. Sherwood creates an atmosphere that’s both cozy and elegant, and every little detail reflects his genuine care and love for what he does. The breakfasts? Absolutely divine. Fresh, flavorful, and different every day – a real treat each morning.
One of our favorite parts was the evening social hour. With a glass of wine in hand, you get to meet other guests, share stories, and truly connect. We made wonderful memories with fellow travelers from Iowa, Portland and West Texas, and those connections made the experience even more special.
The rooms are stunning – beautifully decorated with the most breathtaking views you can imagine. We had the best sleep of our entire trip here. It’s so peaceful, and waking up to the gentle sounds of birds is pure bliss. Every day we spotted so many birds, deer strolling by, and of course, the cheeky squirrels – nature at its finest.
We also loved that you could always make a cup of tea or coffee in your room – such a thoughtful touch. And if you’re a wine lover, you’ll be in heaven. The surrounding area is absolutely gorgeous, filled with vineyards and beautiful drives.
Sherwood, thank you for making our stay unforgettable. You don’t just run a B&B – you create a true haven. We’re already dreaming of...
Read moreMy husband and I came to the Wilamette Valley with a purpose.....to buy wine. We just needed a place to stay. But WOW! We found so much more! Now, I cannot wait to return with friends to show them the amazing place that I have found! Bella Collina! Everything here is amazing. The beautiful home that sits on an amazing hill, with a view that is incredible. It will truly take your breath away. We arrived to be greeted by Sherwood, our charming innkeeper! He is great, and he only gets better! The attention to detail in every little thing is amazing. There is nothing that you could possibly want for that they haven't thought of. We are here in the beginning of October and everything is decorated beautifully for fall down to the settings on the breakfast tables. Our room was fantastic with a very comfortable bed and a beautiful view. I sat on the patio in the mornings to have my coffee and was joined by my new friend, Indiana, (beautiful Golden Retriever) which made it only feel more like home. (only better with no kids and someone to make me breakfast).....and Breakfast. OMG! The strawberry soup with home made granola....the pumpkin french toast, home made jam, balsamic berries with yogurt. I could go on and on. The breakfasts are amazing! And whatever you do, do NOT miss one of Sherwood's wine happy hours on the deck. That was so much fun! He is truly the host with the most! I cannot say enough great things about my stay at Bella Collina, so needless to say, I will be back and will highly recommend it to anyone coming to the...
