Went here on our honeymoon! Absolutely loved it. It was beautiful, peaceful, and very accommodating!
We stayed in a yurt. It was nice to get to be at peace with nature. They offer: primitive camp sites, rv sites, tent sites with water and electricity, yurt rentals, firewood ice All delivered to your site.
I litterly made reservations at 9pm and was there in my wedding dress by midnight.
We had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING packed for camping and we made do. Lol. We stayed in the yurts and they had a pad , sleeping bag, fan, and chairs the site had a fire pit, with a grill attachment and a picnic table.
The views were amazing. The falls are beautiful. It was peaceful.
I can't wait to go back. That was 4-20-2022
Update: Since then, they have added more amazing sights, dog runs, updated many features. Here is part of an update email I just received! I'm so excited looking for opportunities to go back!
We’re happy to be celebrating our third anniversary! We’d like to share some exciting additions.
Last month we completed the construction of our Pavilion and Stage! Located in our community gathering area adjacent to the playground, activity center and fire ring at the main campus (Area C). Please join us Saturday nights at 8 for a group campfire and complementary marshmallows.
Greeter Grill, launched in March, is opened Friday – Sunday from 11 am to 7 pm. Stop by for some delicious smash burgers (their specialty), chicken tenders or soft-serve ice cream. They make their sauces from scratch with home grown herbs! Locals and campers alike are loving it.
Other notable improvements include: • Completion of 4 public dog parks complete with complementary doggy bags and 3 RV sites with smaller pet enclosures • Primitive Tent area (A) and Yurt Village (B) have outdoor showers and rinse stations as well as picnic tables for every site • The Village now has its own playground complete with ninja course, swings, sandbox and hammocks. Each Furnished Yurt also comes with a private porch and large satellite gathering area with picnic table and fire ring and room for large canopy • We’ve added a dish washing station (with hot water) and 2 outdoor rinse-off showers at our main campus bathhouse • We’ve expanded our Camp Store to include many requested camping and hiking essentials as well as lots of Greeter Falls memorabilia, firewood and ice • We recently completed a 9-hole (basket) semi-professional disc golf course (par 27). The Best score so far is 31. We proud to be a distributor of Innova discs

Camped one night in the primitive area. Would have been a much better stay if there weren't dogs barking ALL night. There's a house right there on the main road with I assume a guard dog. I can't fault them for having a guard dog but holy cow, it barked almost all night long. I know it was mostly this dog barking for hours because we took a trip to the bath house around 8pm and it started barking when it saw or heard us walking along the road. I remembered the sound of its bark. Also other dog or dogs barking in the area, all night, loud. Made it impossible for me to sleep. Not sure how anyone can sleep with a dog barking. I really wish I could. We even had our two dogs tent camping with us, who never barked. This was very frustrating as I wanted to sleep in a tent out in nature for the first time in years. But this wasn't nature, more like a dog pound with nobody around. On their policies and rules and such it says dogs are allowed but must be obedient and not bark during quiet hours.. this is obviously not enforced. I wish it had been.
The small hikes were perfect for our family. Two adults and a 5 year old girl. With 2 small dogs. As far as difficulty goes they were perfect. A little challenging but not too bad or difficult for us. The falls areas are a lot more dangerous to step out into or cross, but we did and it was fun. I went swimming at the greeter falls. It was very cold, but fun and refreshing. Too dangerous or cold for anyone who isn't completely comfortable swimming or walking out onto wet and slippery rocks under the water.
They need better signage as far as how to get to the trailhead from the main roads/campground. And could use a little better signage for the primitive camps. Like which site is which, and parking. If it was very busy I could see it being a problem but it wasn't busy when we were there.
We arrived a few hours early before check in. Nobody there at the lil office which is perfectly fine, so i called the number. They were nice and allowed us to check in about an hour early. We decided to go eat lunch anyway and came back later.
The small city of altamont was a cute little city to visit. there's a good little restaurant there and coffee shop which were the only two places we visited. Overall, it was a fun little trip for us. We saw it, experienced it, and have no reason to come back as there are many more to visit in TN.
I would recommend it to others but I will also recommend taking something to cover your ears in case of dogs barking through the night. As I will from now on.
Bath house was nice to have....
Read moreWe can't say enough about our entire experience @ Greeter Falls Campground! Of course, as most, we searched for a campground that would be in a convenient location to explore the Gorgeous Greeter Falls area. This campground is definitely convenient as it is a short walk to the main trail head leading to the Falls Loop.
After we arrived and saw how the campground was set up, we made mention that it kind of reminded us of small neighborhoods. There are different "sections" or " loops" that cut off of the main road that runs alongside the office and Greeter Grill. However, after meeting and talking with the workcampers, management and Robert, the owner, we come to realize that this campground is more like a community. Everyone was kind and so pleasant to be around! This makes the all-around experience even better.
The shower house was clean and the property well-maintained.
All of the campsites are nestled in among the trees, which we came to find out was by design. Robert wanted to keep as much of the landscape untouched as possible. And Let me tell you, there is such peace in looking up at those trees and hearing the wind blow through the leaves. Anyhow, there are primitive sites as well as tent and RV sites with full hookups. One thing that I would suggest is if you are in a Large RV or TT, look at the pull through sites on the map when you go to reserve. We did see several TT's in the smaller sites; however, the smaller sites may be a little more difficult to get set up. We had a family tent at the back of our site (#68), a 10 x 10 Canopy a few feet away in front of the tent and then our truck backed in in front of the Canopy. SO, plenty of room for us. Some sites have their own dog park and there a few throughout the campground.
The campground also offers yurts. Coming soon will be some cozy Cabins.
The store/office provides a map of the campground. It also has basic food/snack items, drinks, firewood and a few other items. Across from the store is the "Greeter Grill" where they serve a variety of delish smash burgers, chili, hot dogs and fries. (Great food and service). Behind the office is like a community area with a fire pit, hammocks and a seating are with a large screen. The night we were there, they were playing a Tennessee Game.
We were only there a few days, but everyone there made us feel like family. Needless to say, we absolutely hated leaving! We loved the atmosphere, the location and the entire experience. SO, we would highly recommend Greeter Falls Campground!
