Please stay away from this venue! My brother and sister in law got married at Youngberg Hill in June 2025. I was their coordinator and had the displeasure of being the main point of contact with the venue. We had an absolutely terrible experience during the planning process, day of the wedding and after the wedding with Youngberg. After our initial tour of the venue with their then Events Manager, that manager left the venue and the position was never filled. Instead, a manager from Portland Catering Company, their preferred caterer, was our new point of contact, even though we weren’t using them as our caterer. It often took weeks/months for the venue to respond on simple questions. We were constantly asked the same questions over and over. It was clear there was no invested interest in our event from any employee we would be talking to. We were told one thing by the general manager and another by the catering manager at Portland Catering Company, which was all different from what we were originally told in our first tour with their events manager. I am baffled at their miscommunication, mismanagement and lack of care for their clients. ||||On the day of the wedding, something that we had talked about multiple times with the venue and were promised they would provide was not fulfilled and I was told there was no way to remedy this because no one was available. Not a single person was able to do anything about this ball being dropped. After the ceremony, the bride, groom and bridal party (10 people total) went to the inn to relax for a few minutes before making their grand entrance to the reception. The bridal party was hooping and hollering for their newly wed friends (understandably). This was met with the inn keeper telling them “you guys need to be quiet because my boss will be mad if you’re loud”. The only people inside the inn at that time were the bridal party and the inn keeper… so apparently it is against their policy to celebrate the newly wed couple. Again, what a disgrace that you call yourselves a wedding venue and yet this is the response to being excited about getting married. ||||The day after the wedding there was even confusion about retrieving our things from the event center by the on site staff, when we had an email sent the week of the wedding from the manager stating exact times we had to remove our items. It is clear this was not communicated to the staff on site and they arrived 50 minutes late to unlock the event venue for us. We have also found numerous things incorrect in our billing and they are only being fixed by us pointing them out. How shady!||||There was so much miscommunication among staff members, mismanagement by both the general manager and the catering manager and all around lack of care for the couple and their wedding day. After this experience, I offered to let the venue make things right before going public with our experience. Again, it was like pulling teeth trying to get them to respond, but I was trying to give them the time to respond. They took until the day before my deadline for them to request a phone call with me. Four days after our phone call, I had to call the general manager back to ask for an update and was told the owner’s decision was that they don’t care enough to make the situation right. The owner of the venue said that Youngberg only provides the venue and the inn, so all of our issues were things they didn’t need to provide anyways. Let it be known that the owner of the venue views quick responses to questions regarding their venue and inn, delivering on their promises and caring about their client’s wedding day as things they aren’t required to provide to someone who books their venue for a wedding. What an absolute disgrace. The general manager agreed with me that the owner’s behavior was abysmal and kept saying things like “I’ve been telling her this is a problem” and “I’d be upset too if these things happened to me”.||||It is clear that from the top down, not a single person involved with this venue cares about anything other than money. The owner, Nicolette, is a coward who won’t answer a single phone call or email and talk to you herself about why she won’t refund any money for a terrible experience, but she’ll sit behind a computer screen and justify her terrible treatment towards customers by responding to reviews (that sound like they were generated by AI, so really how much effort is she putting in there).||||We do not recommend any couple utilize this venue for their wedding. There is not a single thing this venue did well for us in the planning process, during the wedding or after the wedding. It is a disgrace that they charge so much money and deliver such a terrible experience. I encourage every bride and groom and wine drinker stay far away from this venue. Do not give them your money for events, inn rooms (priced incredibly high), or wine. I am incredibly saddened that my brother and sister in laws wedding day will always be overshadowed by the disappointing experience at Youngberg and the lack of care the owner showed when given an opportunity to remedy...

I can’t go into extreme detail because Google gives you a word limit, but here are a few things that were disappointing. Read moreMy husband and I got married here on June 5th of 2025. We initially toured Youngberg last August and we experienced so much warmth and kindness from the woman that gave us the tour. She answered our questions with grace and never made us feel like we were asking a dumb question. After completing the tour and going home we felt peace about booking the venue, we were certain this was the perfect place for us.
Fast forward a couple months and that individual left Youngberg. It became obvious that a lot of transition was happening within the business itself. We then were assigned a new individual who would be in charge of our event. This individual was the co owner of both Portland Catering Co and Youngberg. What we quickly found out was that if we did not utilize Portland Catering Company we would be reprimanded through a number of surprise fees. We are a young couple and simply could not afford Portland Catering Co. As consequence for this we had to book a day of coordinator, we could not throw away any event trash on site, the venue would no longer set up or take down the chairs and tables, and we had to pay the venue an additional 10% of the food costs that we paid our chosen caterer.
When I met with the individual in charge of our event just a couple months before our wedding she was short and unkind to both myself and my aunt. Her response to my questions was that it wasn't her fault that I was fed a bunch of lies by the previous employee that was in charge of my wedding. Mind you my questions included things like: Can we place signs on the road? Do both the flower pedals for the flower girls and my bouquet need to be real?
I felt that the questions I was asking were innocent and in an effort to avoid any additional surprise fees. I left that meeting feeling like an idiot and trapped with a venue that no longer cared for my business since I didn't utilize their services in the fullest (i.e hiring Portland Catering Co).
Now the day of our wedding was everything we hoped for. The Inn keepers were so sweet and so excited for our special day. There was a moment when I was waiting at the top of the stairs hiding from my groom as it was almost time to head down the aisle - that the inn keeper literally yelled up the stairs to me asking who was going to pay for the unpaid room. I just responded with can we figure that out tomorrow? The venue was stunning and our day of Coordinator from Bridal Bliss did everything she could to ensure that we followed all of the rules and had the most perfect day possible. Youngberg Hill is a stunning venue. If you are young, or trying to save money, I recommend getting married anywhere else. We were so disappointed by the way we were treated when we spent so much money to be here and when this was the biggest day of our lives this far.
*Do not get married here unless...
