First year seasonal campers at River Ridge and could not be more pleased with this Resort. Grounds are very well maintained, staff is very helpful and respectful, store has everything you could need, cleanest bathrooms I have ever used, but THE POOL makes this place 11 out of 10. The view from the pool overlooking the Muskegon River, the pure blue water, the umbrella seating, and game room. Don’t hesitate coming to River Ridge Resort, there is nothing like it in this area!!

The resort it self is very nice for RV camping. But unless you have a specific interest for going to the area there is nothing to do there!! If you like to boat and hall one separate then it’s great they have slips for a fee. Tennis with two pro like courts, and two pickle ball a like very nice. One downside we thought for what you pay, the garbage is not picked up you take it to a dumpster. We want late summer and most things where closed (pool, playground etc.

Very nice, clean and well maintained campground. Right on the river. Lots to do especially if you have a boat. Service and staff are great. Had a pretty good pizza from their store.

On this trip, we visited River Ridge on a weekend, and it was definitely busier. This was our third time visiting, and we have NEVER had a rude encounter with an employee. I even phoned multiple times in order to check in early; every person was patient and understanding. In fact, I had security insist upon taking my trash from me on four different occasions. It would still be nice if there was roadside service or cans a bit closer. On another occasion, an employee offered to drive me to my site as I was walking back from the pool with an armload of floaties and towels. So KIND! We purposely did NOT rent a golf cart as that is my definition of roughing it, but I can totally understand those who do transport their own or rent one -- especially if there are young children.||||Since our last visit, the overlook decks have all been completed, the pool has a slide suitable for elementary age kids (although bigger kids did use it) and the park added a jumping pillow on the playground. The grounds are beautiful, and in order to keep them that way, the sprinklers must run. We only noticed the sprinklers on Thursday a zone at a time. An announcement by the park staff would have been nice, though.||||We rented a slip for our boat, and the marina was very flexible with our needs. The seasonal units do form a sort of neighborhood watch over the slips, which I understand, but it did make for a misunderstanding. However, it was the holiday weekend, and lots of people were trying to use slips without paying for them. The marina and store is a separate business from the resort, so that will not impact the rating.||||Our kids are older, so the tennis courts were used a LOT! We have our own sporting equipment, so that saves trips to the office to borrow. A few more activities offered by the park throughout the week would be nice, but it isn't really their job to entertain our children. We did head to Big Rapids (15 minutes max) one day for tubing and another day to play on a Frisbee Golf course. There was a lot of green space behind our campers to play...

We stayed at your resort last weekend for a baseball tournament. I booked specifically because I knew our kids would love the waterslide. When we got there it was after 5 and the slide was closed. We were told that the slide was open from 1-5 every day and the bounce pad opens at 5. We got back from Baseball around 2 and the kids went directly to the pool. Around 3 most of them moved to the slide but at 4:00 the kid watching the area put the chain across and said sorry we are closed now. There were approximately 6 kids at this point, I asked why and he said well there just are not that many people sliding so we close it down when we are slow. I told him we had come just for the slide. After some arguing he agreed to open it back up. within 10 minutes there were over 20 people sliding again. I went back to my campsite around 4:30 and at 4:45 my kids (and their guests that were paid for) came back and said they shut the slide down and that they would not open the bounce pad up until after dinner. ||||I went to the front desk to question this since I paid $60 per site per night (2 sites) plus our friends paid $20 per family to come in. The front desk was locked so I found the security guard who appeared to be in charge. He told me that they pay the kid $20 an hour to watch the slide and it just doesn't make sense to stay open if there are not may kids using it. THAT IS RIDICULOUS. I paid a good amount of money to use the amenities and I don't care what they are paying the kid. He told me that we could slide tomorrow (at 1:00) but 1:00 is checkout so that is...

This review is ONLY in reference to the marina. Regarding the marina, if I could give 0 stars I would. First, when I made the reservation I was given a higher price for rental than on the website. $415 online, $455 when I called. I asked about the cancellation policy prior to making my reservation and was told the cancellation fee would be $40. When we arrived at the campground we decided to cancel our pontoon rental because the weather wasn’t looking good for boating (rain, storms, etc.). Connie informed us she would give us a credit less the $40 cancellation fee. This wasn’t what I was told when I made the reservation. She would not honor that nor did she honor the pricing that was on the website and printed in booklets at the campground office. The pricing in the booklet was the same as I saw on the website and the deposit was $100, yet I was charged $234 to reserve. We were very disappointed in the lack of customer service with Connie as well as the false advertising that she wouldn’t honor. She just gave a lot of excuses. Sadly they have lost the potential business...
