⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Baker Park Campground: Nature, Comfort, and Charm in Perfect Harmony

Our stay at Baker Park Campground was nothing short of exceptional. Nestled beside the shimmering shores of Lake Independence, this park offers the ideal blend of wild beauty and well-maintained comfort. The campsites were spacious, clean, and thoughtfully spaced—giving us room to breathe and truly relax under the canopy of maple and oak.

The park itself is a haven for nature lovers and birdwatchers. We were delighted by the variety of birds we spotted—everything from great crested flycatchers to red-headed woodpeckers—making every hike and shoreline walk an adventure. Trails are easy to navigate and offer gorgeous views of the lake and surrounding prairies.

Amenities like clean restrooms, hot showers, and even electric hookups made camping feel easy and accessible, without sacrificing the peaceful ambiance of the outdoors. Staff were friendly and helpful, and we appreciated how quiet and respectful fellow campers were, even on a busy weekend.

Whether you’re pitching a tent, parking a camper, or just day-tripping to enjoy the beach or trails, Baker Park delivers a near-perfect Minnesota camping experience. Can’t wait to return for another stay...

We didn’t even use our 3 day reservation on site B37. Upon arrival it was electric only. We travel full time, not sure how this was missed cuz we always confirm this. We were expecting water/electric. We also work full time and need Wi-Fi or cell service. We knew there was no Wi-Fi here but were told cell service was good. Wrong again 1 bar T-mobile. Upon trying to set up the RV on the site, it’s completely unlevel with a grade so steep that max tongue jack height couldn’t correct. Tried to call the office but no answer and no host or anyone on site to recommend us a new site. We try to set up anyway, just as I get everything unhooked, chocked and in place, gravity and the steep grade of the site takes the RV off it’s blocks and down the site breaking our front leveling jacks. Needless to say, we left the site and let them keep our money as a donation to the parks to use towards leveling their sites to a usable condition. This was our 47th state and this is the first time we were not able to set...

First time staying at Baker Campground with the family (5 total, 3 kids ages 8/5/5) and we really liked it. We stayed on loop G which was a bit far from some of the amenities, requiring us to drive to the beach or playground but we were aware of that when we booked loop G. The beach was a great set up, sandy area with large canopies and close to shady trees and picnic tables. We got out fishing a couple times (on my friend's boat) and caught a bunch of panfish and it seemed like the lake would be great for all species but weather didn't cooperate for us to do too much fishing. The bathrooms & showers were clean and probably the best overall set up that I've personally used while camping. The playground is awesome. The bike paths are great. The staff working seemed friendly and organized. I can see why it books quickly and it'll be on our short list to consider for future years....

This place is a jem. Lots of trees, beautiful lake with a swimming area. Walking and biking trails and boat ramp/dock. They will loan you life preservers if you need them. We fell in love with this place. The spaces are nice and big. We have a 38 ft Class A and had no problem getting in with 2 slides. Your not on top of each other. Big open area between site. Put your reservation in early because it fills up fast. They only have 30/50 amps here. So fill up and dump before you come. That being said you can fill up here and dump. No extra charge. Such a neat place to stay.

Went camping here for the first time and it was nice. But I feel I was so close to other people camping around which was fine but it didn't feel like camping. We also just happen to go when it was raining on Saturday and Sunday so we didn't get to rent any boats to use. They have firewood at the office for people to buy. Staff was friendly and they provided us a paper map of the campground. Bathrooms without the showers could be better but it is what it is when you go camping.

A very nice place to camp! The grounds are well cared for, sites have plenty of space so you are not right on top of your neighbors. There are fire pits and picnic tables at each site. Bathrooms and showers were clean. Staff patrolled the park day and night. They encourage people to call the police for noise complaints, so it was nice and quiet at night. We will definitely stay here again!
