The Mellen Motel, LLC — Hotel in Mellen

My wife and daughter were in town for a wedding and were set to stay a he Mellen Motel, They were told to check in at the Copper Ridge restaurant where they were met by a drunk bartender and being eyeballed by the local bar flies to the point they were starting to question their safety, The bartender had no idea they were coming despite multiple text confirmations with the owner, He fumbled around and finally got the CC run and their room number, They drove over to the Motel which was dark, Doors unlocked and no parking lot lighting they get into the room and it hasn’t been properly cleaned the windows didn’t lock and the rooms door lock was comparable to a Menards bathroom door lock, After their experience at the bar, condition of the room, Lack of security they decided to pack up and go to a safer location in Ashland, I contacted the owner who was defensive at first but did some investigating and offered a apology and refund I even provided proof of transaction for his review, I’m still waiting for him to honor his word as a business owner and send it to me but as of this posting he’s still dodging my calls and text, Stand up guy, If your driving through Mellen I would think twice or maybe three times before I spent a dime at the Mellen Motel or Copper Ridge, This guy doesn’t honor his word and doesn’t deserve your hard...

Recently stayed at the Mellen Motel on the 4th of July weekend. I was in town for a family get together. I have vacationed in this area my whole life. The motel is definitely a lot nicer than it used to be. Molly, the owner, has done a great job renovating the place! She is also very nice and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable.
