ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS place to stay in an area that is often overlooked! Recently, we stayed at Bethesda Lake Resort, in the Farmhouse cabin, on a trip to south western Arkansas to visit a family member who is severely ill. As an Architect, and Interior Designer in CA, we wanted to stay somewhere that felt, peaceful, beautiful, and relaxing. Stonehill Cottages, in Mena, AR was definitely the right choice. The setting is lovely! It is a hardwood forest, that has been cleared just enough to permit the lake and cabins to be easily accessed. The grassy meadows are beautifully maintained. The woods line the meadows and stretch up the surrounding hills. The lake is small but beautiful, and full of fish! We even got to meet the lady who feeds the fish daily, and watch the huge catfish, crappie, coming up to feed. There are kayaks for guests to use, and a huge swing in a tree next to the lake, which we enjoyed as well! The whole place is beautiful, with exquisite attention to detail in the interior design, and architecture. Our cabin had a fireplace, kitchen, and an EXTREMELY comfortable bed, with gorgeous, soft, clean, linens. We prepared fresh, simple, meals; and ate on the deck outside of the cabin overlooking the meadows and woodlands. It was so peaceful, relaxing, and thoroughly enjoyable; we will definitely be back again when we are in the area!!! The owners / hosts, were very friendly, accommodating, and communicative, when needed! THANK YOU, for making a difficult visit, MUCH more relaxing and enjoyable!!! We are extremely grateful, that you have provided such a refreshingly beautiful place to stay, in such a lovely place; that is sadly often overlooked by destination travelers. We HIGHLY recommend discovering southwest Arkansas, from the comfort of Bethesda Lake Resort, Stonehill Cottages. It is a BEAUTIFUL, peaceful...

Our family of four spent three nights at Storybook cottage. It was perfect! Super sweet, super comfy. The cottage was cooled off when we arrived, and was literally spotless as well. The area is nice and quiet, and the nighttime sky is loaded with stars. We enjoyed having two king bedrooms---tho the stairs to the upper king are fairly steep and there's no real handrail: may be tricky for little ones or seniors. The downstairs king has a TV, which came as a surprise; no TV in the upper king. Beds are cozy, sheets and bedding divine. We spent a lot of time on the wrap-around porch. However, there are no side tables out there for your beverage or snack, so it was a little awkward. (Maybe get a few tables to complete the guest's experience...?) The kitchen was fine for what we needed, but there are no plastic cups for drinks, and we hesitated to take glassware out to the porch. If you're traveling with little ones, you may want to bring some plastic with you. Salt and pepper were provided, but no other spices or oils, so bring what you need/want to season your meals. The whole ambiance of the cottage is so wonderful, and as a group of four the size was perfect. Having five in your group may be a tad tight, and six people (all adults) would definitely be crowded. We're so glad we chose Stonehill Cottages! Really top-notch accommodations! Any "criticism" above is more of an FYI for future renters. And I'm sure there'll be lots of those!!...

Hands down Stonehill Cottages is one of our top 5 vacations for real relaxation, recreation and stellar scenery all in one place. We had a couple’s getaway and it was perfect! The owners were communicative, helpful and available from the time I inquired about their property until the day we checked out. Every effort was made to ensure our comfort. No detail was forgotten. We were very comfortable, especially at bedtime. The beds and pillows were so comfortable, we slept like babies. We always felt safe and the owners were close by if we needed anything. Far enough away from town but not so far that it was inconvenient to drive and pick something up or go eat. It was nice to have a designated fire pit right off the back patio just a little ways. The grounds were immaculate and full of beautiful sights and sounds. Our first night driving in, we pulled up and there were 5 deer right in front of our cottage. Just down the long drive, there’s a picturesque babbling brook that runs along side the cottage. I could have sat there the entire week and been happy. We will be back with our family to enjoy Arkansas at Stonehill Cottages. I highly recommend these cottages to anyone wanting a beautiful getaway. We went ATV’ing and had the time of our lives. There’s also a beautiful lake and pretty waterfall on the property for fishing, swimming and paddle boating. We highly recommend these cottages for...

Absolutely beautiful cabin. A lot of thought went into the designing of this cabin, making it perfect for a lot of people. From the moment we drove onto the property to the moment we left; we loved every minute of our time. A favorite for the adults was kayaking and paddle boarding. A fan of our little one (really all ages enjoyed) were the swings. The furniture was comfortable, the home and grounds were clean. We enjoyed the area, going to Board Camp Crystal Mine to dig for crystals, the Ouachita River for swimming and exploring, Rich Mountain for hiking, enjoying the views and the train ride and visiting the many waterfalls in the area. It was an amazing week with family. Thank you Bethesda Lake Resort & Cabins for creating such a beautiful and relaxing space for our family to enjoy!

Bethesda Lake Resort and Cabins is the perfect get away. We stayed in the Rose Cottage. It was so charming and cozy. We were literally taking notes on all the features we loved to add to our next home wish list. The full kitchen had everything we needed, so we made breakfast and enjoyed it on the wrap around porch. My favorite feature was the hot tub on the back patio. Sure lots of places have hot tubs, but relaxing in one looking out into the forest with only the sounds of the breeze in the trees, the birds chirping, and acorns falling was something special. I so wish we could have stayed longer. The property owners were so kind and made sure we had everything we needed. I’m already trying to plan another visit.

We had the absolute best time staying at Oasis — it was pure magic! ✨ As a real estate broker, I’m always looking at the quality of finishings, and let me tell you… this place is impeccable. Every detail was beautifully thought out, from the high-end materials to the warm, inviting design. But what really won me over? The functionality. As a mom of three, having two full sets of washers and dryers was a total game changer — it made our stay feel effortless. We were able to truly relax and enjoy the trip without the usual chaos that comes with traveling as a family. Oasis struck the perfect balance between luxury and comfort. We’ll definitely be back on our next trip — I wouldn’t dream of staying anywhere else.
