Maplehurst Motel — Hotel in Meshoppen Township

DANGER DANGER* DO NOT STAY AFTER THE FIRST NIGHT WE SWITCHED ROOMS CAUSE WE LEARNED THE DOOR HAD BEEN BROKEN INTO AND SAFETY WAS A ISSUE, NOW I HAVE STAYED IN SOME DIVES IN THE U.S. CAUSE WE TRAVEL WITH OUR JOBS, BUT WHAT HAPPENED NEXT WAS JUST SCARY , AFTER BEING IN THE HOTEL FOR A WEEK AND A HALF WE CAME HOME AFTER DINNER TO FIND THAT THE LADY WHO RUNS THE HOTEL SOLD OUR ROOM TO 3 DRUNK MEN , WHO WENT IN AND UPON SEEING SOMEONE STUFF , DECIDED TO HELP THEMSELVES TO IT , THEY WERE DRINKING OUR DRINKS EATING OUR FOOD AND RIFFLING THROUGH EVERYTHING, MY PURSE WAS SCATTERED ALL OVER THE BED, WE CALLED 911 , THE MESHOPPEN POLICE SHOWED UP ONLY TO INFORM US THAT THEY HAD PULLED THEM OVER A HALF HOUR BEFORE THAT AND GAVE THEM DUI , AND BROUGHT THEM TO THIS HOTEL AND WATCHED THE FOREIGN WOMAN SELL THEM OUR ROOM , SO THEY HAD EVERY LEGAL RIGHT TO BE THERE, AND BECAUSE THEY WERE DRUNK COULD NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS, THEY GOT A REFUND AND WERE LET GO, THE LADY SHOWED UP AND TOLD ME TO CALM DOWN THAT IT WAS NOT HER FAULT , AND SINCE I GUESS THE POLICE SAID IT WAS NOT THE DRUNKS FAULT , I GUESS IT WAS MINE , WHEN THE NEXT MORNING CAME SHE SHOWED UP AND WANTED TO GIVE ME TOWELS WHEN I SAID NO AND WENT TO SHUT THE DOOR SHE STUCK HER FOOT IN THE DOOR AND WOULD NOT LET ME CLOSE IT, WHEN I ASKED FOR OWNERS LAST NAME AND NUMBER I WAS REFUSED, NO ONE IN TOWN SEEMED TO KNOW , SO EVEN THOUGH WE HAD PAID FOR WEEK WE LEFT , BECAUSE IT WAS NOT SAFE ! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! THEY NEVER CALLED OR REFUNDED OR ANYTHING, POLICE WERE...

I was not going to write a review because I did not pay for it but someone else my 1st impression of the place when we pulled up was I think the place was abandoned staff was not on sight we had to call a number and they told us to go to room what ever I don't rember what room and said key card is under the trash can we said it's not are room they said close door pur key card back go to the next room key card is in the light fixture was not are room agai. And then we went to another room and he said where the key card was located it was not their he then decided to drive on site and gave us a key card to the room the room was clean it was one the newer rooms by the look of it the TV still had plastic on it as looking around the room I noticed it was connected to another and we had access we did not use the room we did not pay for it but because of this we had 2 bathrooms in the room the 1st bathroom the tolit was not on the wall properly and shook around the sink sprayed everywhere and the bathtub was okay not hot water the next bathroom sink was not on the wall and no hot water the beds where clean one was parsley broken and u would roll off but you get what u pay for if you are female traveling alone I don't recommend or if you have kids it's right off a busy road the older side I was told by a guess who was living or staying their for a while not sure said the red buildings are older and gross you guy got lucky with the newer side but like I said tou get...

Gosh where do I start. How about the refrigerator door that came off in my hand. I mean the entire door. Number 2, no lamp shade on the lamp, just a bare bulb. Bad smells, dirty, shower curtain 6" too short which caused a minor flood that I had to clean up. Did I mention dirty. I ended up sleeping in a sleeping bag on top of the bed because I was afraid to climb inside. I was there for a sporting clays shoot and all the other hotels were booked unless I wanted to spend 140 bucks for one night. BTW, no room numbers on the doors. I tried the key and it worked so I got in. I blocked the door at night with a piece of furniture. Because I was afraid someone else might have the same key. PS. I have a rash I'm treating with cortisone cream. Gosh knows what I got into my sleeping in the room. PS. They say WIFI, but they told me at check in there...
